I’ve been coming to Corkscrew Bar and Grill for years, and Nadine really stood out to me. The first time she served me it was busy, but she still greeted me with a big smile and made sure I was taken care of right away. What impressed me most was that the next time I came in, she already remembered my name and my drink — that kind of attention makes a big difference. She also made me the best Bloody Mary I’ve ever had, perfectly balanced and full of flavor. Even when the bar is packed, she’s quick, efficient, and still makes everyone feel welcome. I also guess they have a new burger or something because she even pulled out a light from her purse and took pictures of it and you can tell when a bartender CARES. Love this place and the food is always AMAZING. Chef that’s there on Sundays is awesome.
Always good vibes at this great neighborhood spot. Our server Amanda was lovely. We’ll be back, great place to meet up with friends!

Used to Be a Favorite, But It’s Gone Downhill
I’ve been coming to this spot for a few years now, ever since I moved up to the Heights from Hoboken. It used to be a reliable go-to, but things noticeably changed after Nicole, the former manager, left—and unfortunately, not for the better.
The vibe has been off. Most evenings I stop in after work, the place is nearly empty, yet the music is cranked up so loud you’re practically shouting just to hold a conversation. It doesn’t make much sense for a quiet night.
Prices have also gone up significantly over the years, especially for food, and not in a way that feels justified by any upgrades in quality or service.
As for the staff, it’s a mixed bag. Most are friendly and helpful—Maria was always a standout, though I believe she’s no longer there (as are many others who seemed to keep the place running well). There is one bartender who works the late shift and seems perpetually unhappy, blasting hip-hop and matching the mood.
These days, if I just want a drink, I’ll head to Irving Public. And if I’m hungry, I’ll make the trip back to Hoboken—or even grab a bite from McDonald’s, especially considering how the owner here seems to respond to criticism in reviews. 😂

I’ve been going to Cork Screw for years, and recently met Dani—she’s super friendly and gives awesome service. The bar isn’t fancy, but she brings the vibes and always makes it a fun time.

First time at this awesome little quaint bar!
Love it! Clean and super cozy. Walked in for one drink. Alexandra was my bar tender. She was super friendly, knew her beers, and made me feel at home, all while providing her service with professionalism and a smile!!
I will come back!

I frequent this place often, the food and staff are great. I went last night with my mom and the service was exceptional!! Maria as always was on point, incredibly attentive, always knows what we like, makes us feel welcome as soon as we walk in the door. This place would not be half as good it weren’t for the amazing staff! Thanks again Maria!!
