Charming little coffee shops offer delicious coffee and tasty snacks. Their butterscotch latte, pumpkin spice latte, and matcha latter are exceptional. Very good paired with banana bread. Will come back!

The space is small & cramped, and the staff’s attitude really depends on the day. That said, the food selection is fantastic—everything is delicious, especially the coffee and juices. Banana cake is my favorite!

It’s just disappointing that the customer service doesn’t match the quality of the menu. Honestly, it seems like the staff could use a break—it’s pretty clear from their attitude that they’d rather be anywhere else. It feels like customers are being treated as an inconvenience, which takes away from an otherwise great spot.

Went downhill in the last few months. Used to be my favorite over the years, especially the banana bread, but they had a lot of staff changes recently, and the owners, especially the male comes across as favoring certain people. You can tell that by who he welcomes to the store, who he prioritizes in the queue. The discriminative vibe I got here in spite of going here for several years was enough for me stop going here.

The coffee itself is to my liking so I go here frequently. That said there is one staffer who I have to contend with who is startlingly rude every day-hence the downgrade. Kind of ruins the experience. The other servers are great. I went to the counter yesterday and all she said was “yes”-when I went to order. I get it, it’s an exhausting job but don’t be rude.

I live nearby and regularly visit Dames Coffee, so wanted to take a minute to recommend them online. The team here is so lovely and the coffee is delicious. They specialize in the more standard items -- coffee, espresso, lattes etc. If looking for a seasonal drink, not the best spot (try The Hive two blocks away), but if looking for a standard and well-made espresso, this is the place to do it. There is always a dog or two sitting outside (yay), and they have a backyard with wifi for warm work-from-home days. Their banana bread is also a local staple if you want a snack to go with it!

Used to be a regular here for 3+ years, but not anymore. Mainly due to the discriminatory vibe I always got at this store over the years. During these years the owners and the baristas absolutely made no effort to get to know my regular order.

Today was the limit of it, when I entered the store, the barista guy saw me enter but didn't acknowledge it. Then as a courtesy I held the door for a guy with a stroller, who without thanking me went ahead in the line of me, and the barista, in spite of knowing I was there before, went ahead to take his order.

Perhaps people of color were never their priority, and today I saw it in action. This cafe has anyway been going downhill in service quality over the last couple of months as seen from recent reviews.

After spending $5k+ dollars on their Chai Latte and Banana Bread over the last few years, I'm sorry I won't be back here as I feel discriminated against.

Dames is the quintessential espresso spot in Jersey City. They are right in Jersey Ave surrounded by beautiful brownstones.

Their espresso anchored drinks are always killer. We went with the Pumpkin Spice and Butter Scotch Lattes today. The Pumpkin spice was the perfect balance of espresso and sweet, not overly sugary and smooth.

The butterscotch latte was EPIC, tasted like a cookie and if only I could have this on tap throughout the day.

This is a family owned business and every time you walk in they make you feel so welcomed, big fan and always enjoy!

The café has a nice atmosphere, especially with its cozy backyard. However, my first impression was spoiled by an unfriendly barista and a matcha latte that was lukewarm and full of clumps.
