This is my 5th time going here. I normally get the domokase. But my mom came with me this time and she’s not biggest sushi fan. So she got the Korean fried chicken and bacon garlic fried rice. Just like the domokase, if was amazing!

We tried the other DOMODOMO before and the food was awesome. That built up our expectations for this main DOMODOMO. However, the food came out to be average to say the best.. sushi rich falls apart, sandwich’s sauce wasn’t a good matching, pasta was bland.. service was good and all staff are very nice.

I read a lot of wonderful reviews about this place, but may be it hasn’t quite disappointed but at the same time I couldn’t find myself raving about it.
It is okay for what is is, although it could really have been great if it tried harder, both with food volume and taste.

Popped into this quick Japanese handroll spot while in Jersey City for work. Great quality fish and preparations. Prices are a bit higher than other places in the city but I’d stop in here again for lunch anytime.

This place was fantastic! We tried the domokase and every dish was spot on. It started with a delicious raw sampler (tuna cone, yuzu oyster, and wagyu), followed by a bright, citrusy yellowtail ceviche. The miso black cod was cooked perfectly, and the chef’s choice sushi was super fresh. For hand rolls, we went with scallop and spicy yellowtail, both amazing. We picked the matcha cheesecake and sesame pudding for dessert. Service was great too, dishes came out right on time, and the staff was really friendly. Can’t wait to come back!

Honestly, one of the best meals of my life. The gyoza was the best I've ever had and I'll be thinking about the sushi tuna cones for a while.
Their menu is limited. Not too many options to pick from. We tried the hand rolls and karage chicken. Hand rolls were exceptional but the chicken was a little too dry.

Incredible gluten free experience at domodomo (New Jersey). The staff took time to walk through every dish that could be made gluten free. They brought out a Yellowtail nigiri with pickled peppers, which was easily the best sushi I’ve ever had. A few minutes later, the manager came over to let me know the peppers had a small trace of gluten. He was clearly upset. I told him my allergy isn’t severe and the small amount was fine. He checked in a couple more times and at the end of the meal brought us his favorite sparkling sake as an apology.
Some of the best service I’ve had anywhere. If you’re gluten free, this place gets it.

I had the Sushi and Hand Roll course, along with the edamame and oyster sampler to start, and everything was excellent.
The oyster sampler came with a half dozen served two ways. Both were good, but I especially liked the ones without the yuzu foam. The Japanese Old Fashioned was a highlight: smooth and well-crafted.
Restaurant has a great vibe — sleek and feels upscale but welcoming.
We’ll definitely be coming back. This place is a standout for sushi in Jersey City.
