Nice little cafe in the grove st area. Got the sweet and savory pancakes but didn’t really like the soft chewy texture - I’m too used to crunchy hard waffles. Cortado was

The staff was overcharging my credit card. I ordered a Serrano and an egg tarted. Got charged 18 dollar with tips. Later, I ordered an egg tart to go and the staff did not show me the detail of the order. After I left, I received a digital receipt with 21 dollar again. Called them about it and the owner does not believe me and asked me to come in and show them the receipt even though I told him I could give him details over the phone. This was such a fraud and I would never go back there again. Btw, they open 10AM on weekdays and it was somehow never updated on google maps.

I made a 8:30AM reservation but I was told they changed their hour to open at 10AM on weekdays. The staff overcharged my credit card and called them and the owner was very impatient and asked me to show the receipt to him in person in order to get a refund. I am never going back.
Ridiculous that the restaurant and Open Table can't get on the same page. Open Table took and confirmed my reservation for 6ppl. When we got there, the restaurant was closed - not emergency closed, not permanently closed, but always closed on that day and that hour - but OT still took the reservation. I texted the restaurant through the Open Table system when we got there, and 3 days later, still have not received a response. This is an epic fail on both of their parts!! Beware anytime you use Open Table. Beware of going to this restaurant.
Delicious pastries and coffee with an option to dine in which is always appreciated. Interior is cosy and the music is catchy and lowkey without being too pop or boring. Good wifi and plenty of indoor seating.

Count your change! I paid cash ($100 bill) and realized afterwards I was shortchanged $5. My bill came out to $69 and change (no receipt — she told me verbally, so who knows what I was charged for! — and I received 1 ten, 3 fives and a dollar. I was surprised that I didn’t get any coins back and thought that was nice of the woman. Little did I know she shortchanged me by $5! I tipped her $11 and realized when I got on the Path train that the numbers did not add up! This is only the second review I have ever written, a reflection of how annoyed I was!

Very bad experience. Waited for food for more than 1.5 hours while all the other tables that came after us got served. I've been here a couple of times and used to love the food&place. I've even recommended friends to come. This time when my family visited, I took them here because I thought that we'd have a good time with good food. But once we got the coffee and bakery, our food never came. Each time we asked, the answer was that the kitchen was making them. We'd have tolerated the waiting but then all the other tables were served, while we had waited for more than 1.5 hours starving with, well, not much apologies. This made me question if we were being discriminated. I loved this place and wanted to support local business but sadly after this outrageous experience I won't come again or recommend.

Awesome cold brew & delicious treats. They sell out of the Portugese egg tarts by noon so get there early if that's what you're after. The carrot cake is wonderful and the service is always so friendly and welcoming.
Lovely Portugal vibes and the staff is absolutely amazing. Their pastries and lattes are yum !! Got the walnut ring cake and with black coffee it makes for a superb combo.

Great service, delicious food and beautiful arrangement combined with great music at this Portuguese gem in downtown Jersey City right across from the City Hall. Tuna melt sandwich and Verde soup were amazing! The Portuguese sweets are a must to try out as well! Will bring my family and friends next! Can’t believe I didn’t find out earlier about this new cafe. Highly recommended!

A very pretty cafe with nice interior, however we waited for 30+ minutes for cheese and ham croissant and hash. We were served a large latte (like 16 ounces) instead of a cappuccino after about 15 minutes. The food was also so-so, 3/5 at most.

We enjoyed our food very much but service was friendly but slower than we would have liked the morning we were there. Would definitely return for another meal when I'm in the area.
Absolutely love this place. Such a gem in jersey city. We’ve become regulars the last few weeks - their coffee and brunch is so delicious and unique and everyone who works there is incredibly kind. I would come here every morning for breakfast if I could!
I arrived around 10am and stayed until closing. I ordered the matcha lavender latte which was super yummy and for lunch the tuna melt. It was all good not an absolute must but good. My fries were cold and I didn’t bother to ask for them to be replaced I was hungry lol. Good thing they were seasoned really well. It’s portugués so options felt a bit more favorable for people that eat meat. There are an abundance of pastures to choose from. Needless to say I’ll be back a few more times lol. PS loved the friendly service.
Charming with great food and service. A hidden gem. The salted caramel latte was delightful. Limited seating.
