I got lost on my way to the Exchange Place station but happened onto this restaurant thanks to the high reviews.
There was a customer or friend of the shop who helped me order as the counter employee spoke limited English.
I selected from the hot bar instead of a cook-to-order. I got the beans, rice, and pork shoulder. The spice beans were spiced and the pork shoulder was cooked tender. Everything paired well with the rice. I thought the flavors and seasoning were well-balanced. If I ended up back in this neighborhood it would be nice to try something cooked fresh.
Ask for the hand pies/empanada's to be made to order as they don't keep well under the heat lamp.

Absolutely the best food in town!!! Fresh and clean your definitely get your money's worth. Such a friendly atmosphere. The staff is super friendly and inviting always great with a smile. My children love the fried chicken and rice. Definitely recommend, to anyone looking for delicious latin food. Best spot in Jersey City. A must do!
