Try the chicken sandwich!
Probably the coolest vibes outside of the West Village—and it’s right in the heart of JC. Frankie’s is an effortlessly stylish Australian spot that feels like a hidden gem but delivers like a destination. Whether you’re trying to impress out-of-towners or a date, this place hits the mark.
Drinks? Solid across the board. The Lovely Creature—served in a whimsical frog mug—is a spicy mezcal punch that feels tailor-made for a boat cruise or summer rooftop hang. But the standout is Let’s Stay Together—an unbelievable old fashioned that balances depth, smoothness, and just the right twist to make you rethink what an old fashioned can be.
Food-wise, don’t skip the kimchi fried chicken. It’s crispy, punchy, and totally worthy of main dish status. Sit at the bar if you can—it’s the best seat in the house to soak in the atmosphere, the music, and the laid-back but elevated energy.
Frankie’s isn’t just good—it’s one of the best spots in Jersey City, full stop.

Frankie is a great spot to have nearby—it's well located in an area that doesn’t have too many similar options. If you're into a mix of Thai, British, or Australian-inspired cuisine, this place stands out for its originality and unique flavors. The food was genuinely good, with interesting and well-executed combinations that felt fresh and different.
That said, I do think the service could use improvement. While the atmosphere has personality and charm, the overall experience would be much better with more attentive and friendly service. During our visit, dishes were brought to the table and left a bit far from us, and small details like the placement of napkins and utensils felt rushed or overlooked. For a place where dishes are priced over $30 per person, you'd expect a bit more care in the delivery and interaction.
Overall, it’s a welcome addition to the neighborhood, and I’d return for the food—but I do hope the service experience evolves to match the quality coming out of the kitchen.

Tried this Aussie gem and it was a deliciously unique experience! The avo toast was fresh and vibrant, the Full Aussie platter hearty and satisfying. The Welsh rarebit stood out — perfectly poached eggs over sourdough with a rich Guinness spread that was bold and flavorful. Even the Vegemite toast, a first for us, was surprisingly tasty with its salty kick. Every dish brought something new to the table, offering an authentic taste of Australia in every bite. Highly recommend for anyone looking to explore bold, comforting flavors!

How fantastic this restaurant was, was almost fantasy like.
The tables were spotless, the staff was so kind, the food was great, full of taste and depth, and the music was excellent and set at a very reasonable volume.
The bartender was so so kind and I couldn’t have appreciated the service more. The mocktails were fairly priced, and the entire restaurant was beyond spotless as far as cleanliness goes.
They’re well priced, well staffed, and the food is great. What more can you even ask of them?

Highly overpriced & the entrees came in appetizer portions. We ordered fish & chips (substituted fries with salad). The plate comes with one small piece of fish covered in very thick batter with no flavor & a bit of gem lettuce salad. I had to put a lot of ketchup & lemon to make the fish edible. The side salad is fresh with light citrus dressing. The sea bass entree is rich in flavor but comes in an appetizer plate of two small pieces of fish, three small stalks of asparagus, a few green peas & a couple of sliced small potatoes, which is very disappointing considering the premium price tag. Warm service & airy + comfortable seating areas both indoor & outdoor.
Really wanted to like this place but sadly will not return & do not recommend. Plenty of better dining places in the area.

The entrees are the size of appetizers and expensive. Quality is okay - there was a bone in my sea bass, but hey it’s fish just be careful. Service was okay, not super attentive even though it was pretty empty.

Came here for brunch. There’s a lot of healthy options so everything’s on the lighter side. Drinks are great. I did leave a little hungry though.

Our waitress was amazing considering there were 20 of us. The pda and chive dumplings were incredible, and the kimchi fried chicken was also fantastic. Also, I highly recommend the eye of the mind Mezcal cocktail. Spicy and fantastic. If you’re brave, you can eat the little Thai chili in the glass like I did.
