I’ve been ordering from this place for months and I have noticed the prices for the same exact items keep going up , the woman literally makes up a price each time off her head and charges her customers that . I went to place an order and had the menu in my hand and she try to over charge me for a combo 3$ extra for each combo . It just doesn’t make any sense how I order the same thing each weekend and it’s a different price each time , Not to mention the food is alway greasy and barely cooked .

The food is great but please just give me what I paid for… I want my four chicken wings. The menu states four chicken wings on every Chinese restaurant on the planet. If I pay for four then I will expect four. Not two chopped up wingettes and 1 drummette.

Family owned. Quick, typical food options. Kind of wild that the prices are always changing. Wish the food was always fresh, sometimes the wings and rice taste like they were from the prior day.

Got take-out from Garden State Restaurant on Thursday night. There are definitely better Chinese take-out options, but also easy ways for the restaurant to improve. Quality: Had an okay experience with Garden State Restaurant. It was fine in a pinch, but would not be my preferred take-out destination. The Cheese Wontons were in a unique shape, but without the crab meat flavor felt pretty bland. My General Tso's Chicken Combo was okay. I was not a fan of the texture of the chicken and the broccoli was not cooked enough. The rice was decent and reheated well. The Egg Roll it came with may have been the worst Egg Roll I have every had. It felt like they forgot to put anything inside of it, it came out as just layers of fried. Quantity: Large portions, plenty for two meals. Value: $7 for Cheese Wontons. $12 for General Tso's Chicken Combo. Ambiance: Garden State Restaurant is a Chinese take-out place located in Jersey City Heights. They have several tables inside, and I was surprised to see someone dining there, because it does not seem like a great place for a meal. It was very warm and the neon lights were blaring. There was also a loud buzzing noise and they don't turn off the speaker, so all the kitchen sounds and yelling in the back make it to the front with static added in. Also, expect to receive your food through a lock door chamber, which seems completely unnecessary. Crowd: One person dining-in and two others waiting for their to-go orders. Service: My order was ready on time, but they seemed very confused behind the counter. Parking: Limited street parking, but can find space to grab and go.

They will forget your egg roll order every time like clockwork.....Pass

Curry shrimp was more fiery this time around. For an interesting tweak on a Chinese takeout standby, you might try the fried crispy chicken with garlic sauce. Singapore Mei Fun was o.k. but not spicy, as was advertised.

My definition of great Chinese food for a number of years. Flavor profiles are just right and never too salty or bland. Family business that has always treated us with respect.
