A tremendous location "off the beaten path" with a physical presence that is intimate, low-key, and one-of-a-kind. The brilliantly-decorated layout is elegant in a "post-industrial chic" type of manner. The food and drink are good, and the espresso is a real treat, but the setting and ambiance set this place apart. And when there is a piano player there, you can crank the warm ambiance up to "11."

I've lived a few blocks away from here for years and this has been hands down my favorite restaurant in jersey city. Food and ambiance to die for and super professional wait staff

We had such a great time here! The staff were so nice and friendly that we stayed way after we were finished to continue chatting with Sean, Sam & Isabelle. Not to mention that the food was absolutely DELICIOUS!! Great food and great staff what more could you ask for? Highly recommend!!

6:00 Call to confirm they have table for 3 and toddler in few minutes. "Yes, come in." 6:10 Arrive and sit at table. Nearly empty restaurant. 6:12 Host comes to table "Sorry, we made a mistake. We don't have a table for you." 6:13 We leave the restaurant.

Do not order to go from this establishment. I placed an order and right away they called me saying they were out of kale. I agree to a different type of salad. After waiting 2 hours for my order, it never showed up. I called the restaurant several times, without a response. When they finally answered, the only status they could provide is that the order left the restaurant for delivery. Completely unreliable and disappointing.

We got here on a Sunday during a brief rush. Wasn't able to make a reservation beforehand but that was fine. They were able to accommodate a table for us indoors. The drinks are mediocre, can't expect much if the refills are only $1. As for the food, the eggs over purgatory was what you would expect, nothing spectacular. The crab cakes were..crab cakes. The French fries were delicioussss though and the fish that blew my mind, the ricotta pancakes, absolutely unexpectedly great. Our server was very sweet and accommodating. And actually this goes for all the staff, all very pleasant. The interior is filled with photography and even pictures of horses on sale. Loved the decor. There is no private parking, finding street parking was not difficult though. Overall, i liked this place.

unfortunately, GP's Hamilton Park only gets 2 stars because the service is consistently TERRIBLE. i recently moved to the neighborhood two months ago, and we have been to GP's a dozen of times, and the bad service starts with the hostess and just snowballs downhill with the servers. for example - on saturday evening at 8 pm, the hostess told me the wait for an outside table would be 45 mins. understanding it was a busy night, we said no problem....and decided to grab drinks across the way at Rumba. there was a table open outside THAT WAS NOT SAT for 35 mins - just sat there empty. when the hostess called my cell, to let me know the outdoor table was available, we decided to stay at Rumba since the service was impeccable there. other times we have been to GP's the servers will greet us with an attitude or give us an eye roll when we ask for another glass of wine etc. it's like they don't want to be working there. like i said, service is very sketchy here. however - i absolutely LOVE the food at GP's. order anything classic, and it's fantastic. i try to overlook the terrible service, but always end up leaving a bit disappointed because of the lack of hospitality.

This Italian restaurant is located at a nice part of the town of jersey city . The hostess greet us with a warm smile and the wait for a table is of no more than 10 minutes. Meanwhile, we were sipping very well made drinks at the sound of girl from Ipanema that's been played by a soothing voice at the piano in front of us. The restaurant warm hearted owner gives us recommendations for our main course and the Shrimp scampi and meatballs recommended were outstanding! The restaurant vibe promotes good conversation, laughs and a high quality time. Highly recommend the place for delicious meals, well prepared drinks, excellent wine list and for overall dining experience!

The food was solidly good. The pasta wasn't quite al dente but wasn't mushy by any means either. I tried the pasta with sausage and broccoli rabe. I definitely recommend it. I've been in for drinks and a work event, but recently got to sit down and enjoy dinner for the first time. Safe to say it won't be my last.

GP's Hamilton Park is a tasty Italian restaurant in this part of Jersey City. The original is apparently located in Guttenberg, NJ. Service was polite and efficient. The ambiance is very pleasant. It's dimly lit and they have live music, including a singer and pianist. The food was solidly good. The pasta wasn't quite al dente but wasn't mushy by any means either. I tried the pasta with sausage and broccoli rabe. I definitely recommend it. I'll be back!

Loved this location and very welcoming atmosphere. Brought my grandmother for her 80th birthday and she was so satisfied with everything. The food was amazing and I will definitely be coming back for more with some new friends. Thanks!

So I stumbled upon this place while actually trying to dine at the Hamilton Inn which was way too over crowded due to rain. I had the clams oregnato (nothing special just stuffed with breadcrumb kind of tasted like eating sand ), stuffed mushrooms (more breadcrumb no crab meat which is essential in this dish). For entrees I had the chicken marsala which was very good but a little salty and my girlfriend had the chicken Francese which was divine, but the linguine accompanied by it was not up to par. For drinks I had the Polomo Fizz and my friend had the negroni both of which were good. I would come back they should just upgrade the appetizers to be real Italian meals. The ambiance was nice. For dessert we tried the tiramisu it was alright. (Total $120, not including tip) totally reasonably priced for the neighborhood.

This was my first time here pretty quiet on a Sunday night, 5 in our party - good, friendly service. They promptly put bread, salad, and water out on the table and got our drinks. We also shared the Garlic Bread with Cheese and Roasted Brussel Sprouts appetizer which was a special. I had Veal Milanese. All the food was good nothing to die for but good. My dinner came with a side of any pasta, I went with the Penne Vodka which I didn't think was that flavorful. Would definitely go back.
