Very bad dining experience. There was a fly baked into the cornbread. When we told the manager it was unacceptable, he said flies are everywhere. If you’re looking for low standards and a little extra meat in your food. This is the place.
On the food front, the pulled pork was very dry and tasteless. The brisket was very lean and dry as well.

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. While eating, I found a smashed well cooked dead fly in my cornbread. The waiter was polite and immediately apologized, which I appreciated. However, no manager came over at that time.
When I later asked to speak with the manager, he casually said he had heard about it and was “sorry,” but added that “flies are everywhere.” His response was dismissive and unprofessional. He then “generously” offered to remove the cornbread from my bill — as if that made up for serving food with a dead insect.
After going back and forth, I was finally offered a 15% discount on my meal. I wasn’t looking for free food — just a sincere apology and a responsible gesture from management. Instead, I left feeling disrespected and disappointed by how poorly the situation was handled.
The staff on the floor did their best, but management’s attitude was completely unacceptable.

Hamilton Pork has a great menu of smoked meats with a fine bar and delicious, well-imagined side dishes. Service is fast & excellent, and they also have one of the most pleasant outdoor dining spaces in the city in their back yard. My husband & I used to go there before covid and we somehow lost track of it, but we recently visited again and were pleasantly surprised. We have been twice recently. On our first visit we had the 3-meat combo with turkey, brisket & pork belly burnt ends. Everything was excellent -- tender, juicy & flavorful. This time we had the same with turkey, brisket & pulled pork. The pulled pork was excellent, but the brisket was tough & needed at least another hour, while the turkey was tasty but on the dry side. So a little better consistency is called for here. Other than that, I have only one suggestion. In the old days they offered High West rye whiskey, but now they only have Bulleit. There is nothing wrong with Bulleit, but it's not High West, which is only a little more. So I recommend they stock High West again.

We liked the food at Hamilton pork, good bbq and good service. We originally asked for a booth but immediately moved because there was a cockroach crawling across the table. Table had crumbs and clearly had not been cleaned. Otherwise meal was fine, enjoyed the various tacos, liked that you could order one of each. Big tacos. Good in house bbq sauces.

Having had authentic Texas barbecue recently in Texas, maybe my expectations were too high. Brisket is supposed to be tender and have a melt-in-your-mouth texture. The brisket here was unfortunately quite dry. For sides, we got brussels sprouts and fries, and both were very salty. We will not be coming back.
I came from out of town to visit a friend and this place was recommended, not sure why. The food was decent, service was slow and there’s RATS in the backyard. Not just normal rats, they’re huge and we saw at least 5 of them. My kids were scared of the critters running around so we just left. The health board needs to check this place out cause that is some sick stuff to see when you’re eating!!
