I love that this is one of the very few places in JC that has hookah. I have never had food here so I can't speak to that. The hookah was decent the drinks were not good however.

Had brunch there for my fiance with about 25 people, they let us use the outside patio area which was heated. Food was delicious and drinks were endless. Would definitely go back.

The Food was so good it was gone in 60 sec. I had a great server named James who has a great attitude. He was entertaining and made the experience more enjoyable. They also had a cool back spot that was real chill. I highly recommend this place to anyone who want a nice chill spot to hang with friends.

Comfortable and spacious indoor space. The yucca fries are great - perfectly fried. The ropa vieja mofongo has great taste though I think the ropa vieja could have been more finely shredded. My husband loved the oxtail special. Margaritas are also pretty good - good taste and not watered down.

They were so professional, friendly, and fun, and had great menu recommendations.Taking off two stars - the manager Alexa was aggressive and rude, and made us feel very uncomfortable. We almost left before we ordered - Alexa shockingly threatened to call the cops because we wanted to sit for a few minutes and catch up before looking at the menu.

Fist time coming to hard grove with my family. Very cozy, nice and clean . The food was outstanding. the DJ was great! Love the music . My server’s name was James . He was very intensive and professional he really made us feel welcome. He gave us some great food choices and was very friendly. He made sure we were 100% satisfied. James made our experience a wonderful night out , I will definitely come back. I’m definitely recommending my friends and family. Thank you ! .

Recently move to Jersey City and have been trying all the local restaurants. Hard Grove has a great atmosphere. Bartenders are super friendly. The food was excellent. Loved the grilled chicken encebollado and when it came to the dessert, my husband loved the flan. Will definitely come back. Thank you!

I went with some friends on a Friday night, the DJ was great, the environment was fun, there were so many good choices on the menu, I went with the Beef Nachos to start and they were out of this world, and do not get me started on the Pernil for my entree. it was so delicious!! Our server for that night was Jovan, he took great care of us and was so helpful. He recommended the Hard Grove Punch and Mango Margarita, they did not disappoint.Definitely coming back next time for great vibes, fun, and hookah ?

Last night, I went to Hard Grove restaurant with a group of 4. We had a terrible experience from the moment we walked into the restaurant.They couldn't find our reservation but sat us anyways since the place was nearly empty. We had to request the restaurant week menu. The service was slow and more concerned with us buying alcoholic beverages than taking our food order. It took them one hour to bring us 2 of 4 appetizers we ordered.After 2 hours, they tried to bring out 2 of the 4 entrées while we were still waiting for the other 2 people in our party to get their appetizers. The waiter was rude when we asked him for help. He tried to confront us claiming that all 4 appetizers were served. He finally went to the back of the kitchen to confirm we were right.At this point, we were afraid they might contaminate our food therefore we requested a check for only the food we consumed and beverages. He refused and argued that the food was already made in the back and we have to pay for it. We refused because after 2 hours of waiting and arguing with him we were over the place and needed to head to our next destination. He claimed "this isn't Olive Garden, we are a small mom and pop place and you have to pay." At this point, we asked to speak to a manager. The manager came to address our concerns but still insisted on us taking the food to go, we emphasized we didn't want food from the establishment. After a bit of back and forth, she finally agreed and brought us a check for the food we consumed.I'm was extremely disappointed in this experience and don't recommend this place.

EXTREMELY RUDE SERVICE & LONG WAIT TIME:A group of us decided to go to Hard Grove for restaurant week and we made rsvp. We arrived at 6:30 pm. The following took place:1. They said there was no RSVP under the name given.2. They took a long time to get our drinks.3. We ordered 4 appetizers to start and they took an entire hour to get 2 appetizers to the table.4. Due to the long wait time we had to order another round of drinks.5. We had to continously ask if the order was ready and then we were told that they had given us all the appetizers which was not true.6. After constant inquiries about the timing of the food we realized we had been sitting there for 2 hours. We had to cancel. And after we canceled we were told that our food was ready.We told them we would only pay for what we consumed and that we wouldn't not be paying for anything else if it had not reached the table.The server Got irrate and demanded we pay. The manager got involved and we were charged full price for our drinks and appetizers (not restaurant week specials). He said this is NOT the Olive Garden and demanded we pay.In order to avoid Further spectacle in the restaurant we paid for our drinks and APPETIZERS and we left.

Recently I had dinner here with a group of friends. Although initially the service was a bit choppy and unorganized, we even had to ask if we could get another round of drinks, the food was spot on, very good. Everyone enjoyed their appetizers and entrees. Just need to get their wait staff on the same page and organized.
