Big fan since I moved to JC, it’s a must stop side bar whenever I have family/friends visiting. The food is good to order and comes out very hot, YUM! Thanks to Vic on the grill and all the fabulous bartenders who take care of everyone:) My favorite bar in Jersey City!

Yesterday I visited Healys Tavern for the 2nd time in the past few months. I had the pleasure of meeting the cook Victor who went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we ordered and had a clean table. Must I add the food was unbelievably delicious. Can't wait to come back, enjoy the atmosphere and food!!!

Healy’s tavern is the best local bar in Jersey City! Vicky and Francis are the best bartenders! They are always so kind and make you feel like you are friends hanging out and part of the community. Prices are right, food is delicious and the people are incredible!

The bartenders Vickie and Francis are amazing! The Trivia guys bully me from time to time but it’s all good because Vicki puts them in their place!

Great local bar with good food, fair priced drinks and friendly service especially from the daytime staff (Rinny!). Highly recommend all around

Rinny, daytime bartender was a sweetheart. My first time here. I read about Healys on Yelp and Google reviews. I had a few daytime drinks and felt like I have been coming here for years. Touch-Tunes Internet jukebox music: you can pay/play music from your seat with cell phone . Diverse customer base: Culturally, Racially, Sexual Preference, White Collar, Blue Collar, No Collar. Just be nice and respectful: No Politics, No Religion or Personal Bias debates allowed.

$4 yuenglings, food prices are reasonable and the food was okay. But the vibe was pretty chill and the service is great! I've only been once and it was crowded! I'd go back

I hosted brunch after my son’s baptism here! Everything was absolute perfection and we can’t thank this establishment enough. Tori helped make this event a seamless process. When we arrived everything was ready and everyone was attentive, responsive and so great and helpful. Plus the food was delicious! We will be back soon.

Discrimination Complaint Regarding Bartender at Healy's Tavern

I have been a loyal patron of Healy's Tavern for many years, but my recent experience left me deeply disappointed and upset. Today, while visiting the bar with a friend, we were treated unfairly by one of your bartenders, which I believe was discriminatory.

The bartender approached us and stated that we had to leave because, according to her, expressing religious, political, or personal beliefs was not allowed in the bar. She singled me out for wearing my cross necklace and a T-shirt, which she claimed was offensive. As a practicing Catholic, I wear my cross as a symbol of faith, and I do not believe it is right for someone to be discriminated against for doing so.

I respectfully pointed out that there were other symbols, such as pride flags, displayed in the bar. However, the bartender insisted that we leave and said we were no longer welcome. This treatment shocked and disappointed me after many years of supporting Healy's Tavern.

I believe that this was a clear case of discrimination, and I am extremely concerned by the behavior of your staff. I kindly request that this matter be addressed immediately, as no customer should face such treatment.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I’ve been a loyal customer of Healy's Tavern for years, but my experience today was extremely disappointing. One of your bartenders told me and my Iranian boyfriend to leave, claiming I couldn’t express my religion, politics, or any beliefs at the bar. She took issue with me wearing a Jesus cross and my T-shirt, which she said offended her. I was told to leave because the bar doesn't support "any beliefs." However, I pointed out there are symbols like pride flags displayed, which she dismissed. After years of supporting your establishment, I’m deeply disappointed to face what I feel is clear discrimination for wearing my cross and expressing my beliefs.
