Placed a last minute order for a team meeting yesterday. Maria was super helpful and patient with me as she walked me through my order for my group. I needed things to be packed properly due to food allergies. She was accommodating and made sure my order would arrive on time. Shout out to the chefs who also did an amazing job, everyone was raving about the food!! Many people asked me where I ordered from?! Thank you Maria, you saved the day!! ;)

Calamari was surprisingly good. So good I went back and got it again 2 days later. Pizza is always solid. Girl at the register not as great as the food countwr guys, but the guys got me squared away.

Something changed in this location in terms of service recently. I used to stop by for regular orders and TooGoodToGo, but recently it feels like workers go out of their way to make your wait long and unpleasant. Last time I visited to pick up TooGoodToGo order and I was told that I need to wait until the END of the pickup window. Nope, this is not how it works, guys. Also, there was absolutely no reason for that, the store was empty and there was plenty of slices left. On an argument that it’s not how this service work, I was told to “go complain to the service, it’s even better for us”, whatever it means. Time to look for another pizza spot.

I have ordered delivery a couple of time and the pizza doesn’t taste like it used to . The pizza crust was made wrong the crust was too think and sometimes mines was burnt a little , I love Helen’s pizza but someone is not making the crust right

For high quality pizza - look for a different spot. For a cheap cheese slice, look for a different spot.
Pizza was too expensive ($4 for a cheese slice) and below average. It’s not terrible however, and might be worth it for those who need a quick bite before catching a train.
Inside it is just a normal pizza place - and there’s some outdoor seating. Nothing special but also not dirty.

⚠️ DRAMATIC REVIEW — BEWARE ⚠️ Helen’s in Downtown Jersey City, you owe me an apology… and dry cleaning.
I ordered shrimp Parmesan, garlic bread, and a Sprite. After fighting with the system just to place my order — sitting in my car on the phone trying to get it through — I finally thought I’d have a decent lunch. I thought.
The delivery guy shows up on a bicycle (okay cool), but refuses to bring the food inside, even after I TIPPED him WELL. I go outside to get it, come back in, sit down, open the soda… and then disaster strikes.
The Sprite explodes like a shaken-up firecracker. Soda EVERYWHERE. My clothes — soaked. My food — drenched. My phone — sticky. My mood? Unrecoverable.
Mind you — I’m at WORK. Wearing wet clothes. Sticky in 100° weather. Smelling like a combo of shrimp parm and Sprite. And now I’m cleaning up a mess instead of enjoying lunch.
I called the store to explain and all they had to offer me was a whopping $2.65. Not a new meal. Not even a refund. Not even an “I’m sorry.”
I threw the food in the garbage and honestly… that’s where the experience belongs.
0 stars. Helen’s, do better. Because this ain’t it.
