Got a flavored brew. Oddly sweet yet super bitter in a way that tasted fermented?? Maybe i had a weird batch of brew/beans but wouldn’t go back based off the drink alone (threw it out unfinished)

We were waiting outside 5 minutes before opening and the woman opening up shop allowed us to walk in early. She explained what everything was and the coffee and food were equally amazing

Love this place. The staff is awesome and drinks are great! They also have some great sandwiches that you can’t get anywhere else.

Tried them out today since I was in the area. The shop is very nice and I loved the atmosphere here. Went in for a regular coffee but ended up getting the Americano instead and from the moment it was presented to me. I knew I was going to enjoy it. Not sure what the negative reviews were about with the staff but they greeted and welcomed me and even said goodbye when I left.

I’ve lived here for two years and somehow have never tried this gem. The masala chai and Americano were delicious as were the Bombay sandwich and chicken tikka sandwich. You can also tell the care and attention they give while making the drinks and food. This will be our new coffee and chai spot!

Masala chai the way it is meant to be! Nothing more nothing less. Their sandwiches are pretty good as well.
Just one suggestion, if possible can you folks make masala chai available in smaller sizes as well? The current option has too much chai for a single serving

I popped in at Hidden Grounds (just a few minutes walk from Grove St PATH Station in JC) to kickstart my day with some caffeine and a pastry. I got the cardamom bun, and it was delicious!

I'll definitely visit more locations across Manhattan and Brooklyn when I need a to-go spot for a coffee catch-up with another Supp client.

Coffee tastes amazing, and I love that this place offered lavender flavored matcha lattes! (They also do a good job at latte art.)

I was disappointed though with the customer service. I kindly pointed out at the register, earlier this month, that the country spelling of ColOmbia (on their handwritten sign) should be spelled with two “o”s (and not with a “u”), to not only match the coffee bags that they were selling, but to most importantly properly represent the amazing coffee bean origin.

To my surprise, the lady at the register was rude, got defensive, and did not seem to not care at all about me explaining that Colombia (the country) was being misrepresented as Columbia (the university). She didn’t care to update the sign, or to at least mention that she could share with management to fix.

Fast forward… I came back to the coffee shop today, and Hidden Grounds still hasn’t taken a moment to make the quick fix that would mean a lot to the local Colombians who visit this establishment on a regular basis. 🇨🇴 It might seem insignificant to some, and yes ignorance is bliss, but being open to feedback that a country’s name is spelled wrong would speak volumes about embracing Colombia a step further than just our coffee!

Would prefer to buy my coffee from establishments that are willing to honor the countries that provide their special coffee beans🫘🙃

A coffee place that sells coffee beans from Colombia but can’t spell the name of the country properly, it is not ColUmbia 🫣

Someone tell the staff to correct it, wait, I did, and they gave me the rudest attitude 🥴

Sincerely,
A Colombian coffee lover ☕️

The best coffee I have tried in NJ. Taste so good.
The latte and New Orleans brew are amazing!
I bought the coffee beans as well. The espresso has a flavor of dark chocolate! Love it.
