Just had a super disappointing experience here. Service was so terrible. It might as well be a no service restaurant where next to no attention was paid to us. The servers were also just rude and short with us. We wanted recommendations and they were just so short. We waited to order dessert for the kids but no one attended us for long time so we just paid and left. Food is overpriced. Don’t get the udon noodle. Not coming back here ever again.

Everything was great. I tasted five different things. The mussels were decorated and I didn’t expect that but everything they put on was good. Had the poke bowl and that was great too

I tried 3 different rolls from this place. I think the quality and taste are equal or slightly worse than rolls from Whole Foods 🙁

Absolutely amazing sushi!! The sashimi appetizer and spicy tuna tartare were amazing and I wish I had taken a picture. The rolls were so good! We got the (top to bottom) New Jersey, White Pearl, Crazy Tuna, Honshu (and more New Jersey). I think I'm remembering those names right.
We also had some non-sushi eaters in our party. They recommend the edamame and say the cooked fish is delicious too 😜

I usually don’t post bad review but was super disappointed this time.
Ordered the Sashimi Sampler via delivery, which on description was “assorted Premium chef’s choice sashimi.” Opened the box and saw both pieces of the salmon were a very poor cut that could be considered scrap, not to mention the meat itself was very hard to chew due to the thick white lining from that particular part of the fish. Very disappointed in Hongshu and its advertisement of this dish as a premium offering.

The service in the solid where the best part of my experience here. We ordered the chicken teriyaki. The chicken was very chewy which is a sign of either bad quality or undercooking and it did not look undercooked we also ordered the sushi lunch set will the variety of sushi and everything tasted kind of bland.

CUSTOMERS BEWARE. The salmon roe is not real and they use a fake substitute. There is a major issue with ingredient freshness here and sushi often tastes quite stale.

I ordered take out and everything was pretty bland. I liked the Edamame but could have used a little sprinkle more salt. The biggest upset was the special rolls (Jersey Roll & Crazy Tuna) because they had no flavor. It felt like something was missing to make it a special roll. The spicy salmon roll as well was similar in taste to the Salmon avocado since there wasn’t any spice. Overall was not a fan of this spot for sushi when other options exist. Maybe the other rolls are better.

I agree with another post. NOT personable but could be their personality! I am from the Aloha State, Hawai'i. I always thought it was an East Coast thing where they are awfully rude and snotty. Hawai'i and the West coast does sushi THE best! NOT the best sushi and udon! Might work for East Coast peeps! Lol. The place was sure empty! In Hawai'i, our places are packed and form long lines! Prolly should check out places where they serve up meats and potatoes or tacos! Lol

I had a very disappointing experience with Jason when placing my takeout order and when I called back to report an issue with my order, I was met with the same treatment.
I placed a takeout order with Jason and inquired about their Nabeyaki Udon, requesting to replace chicken with beef. He said it was not possible because it’s mostly vegetable, and so I asked for a Beef Udon and he said they can do that. I also ordered a Kitsune Udon (Tofu Skin & Fishcake as labeled on their menu. My receipt as shown:
Kitsune Udon - $14
Beef Nabeyaki - $18
Brown Rice - $2.50
I was told it was an additional $2 charge for beef. When I got home and took out the food, I discovered that both Udons were exactly the same, except one with beef and the other with 3 pieces of tofu skin (no fish cake). Essentially, I paid $6 extra to replace tofu skin with beef. When I called to report how absurd that is, Jason said verbatim “I told you it was $20, and where are you going to find beef for $6?”
First of all, Jason said it was “$2 extra” on top of Nabeyaki, not $6 on top of Kistune. If it’s $2 on top of Nabeyaki, I fully expect Nabeyaki, not a bland vegetable stock.
Secondly, the quality of the Julianne’d beef is ruined when you cook it by boiling it in water and sealing it in a steaming hot container.
Despite me reasoning with Jason, he was not very accommodating and rather combative. I told him I don’t want to argue and I’ll just write a review. I hung up, and he proceeded to call back 3 times.
The sushi we ordered was not at all fresh, the fish looked very stale. The Katsu don wasn't tasty either. The restaurant did refund us the sushi when we asked for the bill.
Love it! The best sushi on planet!
Alwsys a good meal here. Happy hour sesame wings pictured are amazing.
