I had a very disappointing experience with Jason when placing my takeout order and when I called back to report an issue with my order, I was met with the same treatment.
I placed a takeout order with Jason and inquired about their Nabeyaki Udon, requesting to replace chicken with beef. He said it was not possible because it’s mostly vegetable, and so I asked for a Beef Udon and he said they can do that. I also ordered a Kitsune Udon (Tofu Skin & Fishcake as labeled on their menu. My receipt as shown:
Kitsune Udon - $14
Beef Nabeyaki - $18
Brown Rice - $2.50
I was told it was an additional $2 charge for beef. When I got home and took out the food, I discovered that both Udons were exactly the same, except one with beef and the other with 3 pieces of tofu skin (no fish cake). Essentially, I paid $6 extra to replace tofu skin with beef. When I called to report how absurd that is, Jason said verbatim “I told you it was $20, and where are you going to find beef for $6?”
First of all, Jason said it was “$2 extra” on top of Nabeyaki, not $6 on top of Kistune. If it’s $2 on top of Nabeyaki, I fully expect Nabeyaki, not a bland vegetable stock.
Secondly, the quality of the Julianne’d beef is ruined when you cook it by boiling it in water and sealing it in a steaming hot container.
Despite me reasoning with Jason, he was not very accommodating and rather combative. I told him I don’t want to argue and I’ll just write a review. I hung up, and he proceeded to call back 3 times.
The sushi we ordered was not at all fresh, the fish looked very stale. The Katsu don wasn't tasty either. The restaurant did refund us the sushi when we asked for the bill.
Love it! The best sushi on planet!
Alwsys a good meal here. Happy hour sesame wings pictured are amazing.
The sushi is great, usually we don’t enjoy eating sushi but this place changed our perspective. Now i need to take my family to try out again here.
Service isn't exceptional, but the quality is on the better side for sushi in JC and is consistent. Well-priced, though I haven't had the omakase since I only do Nakazawa for omakase. I care a lot more about being respected by the restaurant's food prep for its customers than individual dining staff, and it nails it. Probably the longest run I've had at any sushi place without food poisoning too, so that's a plus.
The Best Seabass in the World – A Culinary Masterpiece Worth Crossing Oceans For
Let me tell you about the seabass that ruined all other fish for me.
There, at a maryse looking Chinese restaurant, I had the best seabass of my life. No fancy presentation, no unnecessary sauces. Just seabass, grilled to absolute perfection and the juiciest.
The skin was crisp and golden fire. Inside, the flesh was impossibly tender—silky, moist, and bursting with flavor. Every bite melted in my mouth.
I was traveling with a close friend of mine—a seasoned fisherman who’s tasted seafood in more ports than I can count. Halfway through the meal, he put down his fork, looked me dead in the eye, and said, “This is the best fish I’ve ever had. Period.” Coming from a man whose hands have pulled thousands of pounds of fish from oceans around the world, that meant something.
We sat there in silence for a while, not because we had nothing to say—but because we didn’t want to miss a single detail of the experience. It wasn’t just a meal—it was a revelation.
consistently superb food, service, and atmosphere
Ordered from DoorDash. It was subpar. Rolls were falling apart. It looked like the time I tried to make sushi in my kitchen. Spicy mayo had an odd hint to it. Wouldn’t order again.

A Japanese restaurant run by Chinese people. I wish I could at least imitate it
The menu is Japanese food, but the taste is Chinese.
Even if I'm hungry, I'll just pass.

Great friendly service. Fast and convenient, good vibes!
So glad we found a great restaurant nearby! We went for Friday lunch for the first time and didn’t expect anything extraordinary, but we were pleasantly surprised. The quality of the food was spot-on, especially considering the price. We really enjoyed it! The tuna sushi, sashimi, and rolls were amazing, and the tempura was also excellent. We’ll definitely be back for dinner and plan to visit more often. Highly recommend!

An amazing spot especially for sushi lovers. The atmosphere is ideal for enjoying some of the freshest sushi in NJ. A great Japanese beer selection, as well as a very strong Sake selection. I highly recommend the Shirakawago Nigori for those that don’t like Jumani or Ginjo sakes. The sushi dinner entree was incredibly fresh and flavorful. If you are a roll person, definitely give the Tokyo Roll a try. It was so delicious. 10/10 recommend for any fan of sushi.
