We booked a suite with view of NY. 2 adults with 4 kids. The positive thing was where the hotel was located. Easy to get to NY by the PATH trains to 33rd street or by ferry/boat to World Trade Center Area. The suite was not prepared for 6 people. There were not enough towels, blankets and pillows. There were only 2 glasses/cups. The beds were really small. The sofa bed was uncomfortable and made noises. During our 3 nights stay, the suite was not cleaned at all! We told the reception on Tuesday and Wednesday but nothing happened. We even had to call for them to come and take the trash out. The people working at the front desk were ok, but we are not happy with this hotel at all. The only positive thing was the location. We got free parking as a discount. Will not be going back to this hotel!
Good place to relax, decent food, good hangout/chill

Overall: the hotel has a very good location, near to the PATH to NYC; the rooms are large and the bed is very comfortable. Breakfast is poor... very limited options with average quality. Way below the breakfast in other Hilton hotels. However, the staff proved to be inexperienced in the situations I went through in the hotel. I'll list the main ones: 1) The front desk attendant wasn't polite at all and didn't communicate many important details of the stay (such as: breakfast time, wifi password, how to get to the room, if I needed any support with the 3 luggages I had, etc) 2) One night when I was arriving from work, my 2 room keys simply stopped working. Ok, these things happens. Then I went to the front desk to share what happened and ask for new ones. The next say, same thing happened again. The 2 new keys didn't work and I had to go back to the front desk. Ok. The next day (3rd day), guess what? the keys weren't working again!!! Third time! They said that an engineer would support but nothing has been resolved at all. Detail: I would stay there for long 12 nights. 3) One day at the hotel I made a delivery order and, as usual, went downstairs to the entrance to get it with the deliveryman. The delivery app was saying that he was already there, but I didn't see him. Then I recognized his car and asked the lady that was inside of it where was he. She said he was at the hotel. So I asked the front desk attendant if any deliveryman left an order or asked to call my room - she confirmed that no one had been there. When I was going to talk to the lady in the car again, she told me he was UPSTAIRS AT MY ROOM DOOR! I mean, this was unbelievable!!! What is the security level of this hotel?! The front desk attentant just said "sorry about that".... 4) I was hearing a dripping water noise in my room that was actually a SHOWER coming out of the bathroom lamp! I immediately recorded a video to show the hotel staff because it was too dangerous for me and for any other customer/employee in that room. There was so much water coming out from ceiling that it looked like it could collapse at any moment. So I went to the front desk to ask to change the room and showed the video to the attendant. 5) the room maid service simply didnt happen for 2-3 days in a row without any explanation. once they left a kind of "letter" under the door explaining, but the other days they just didnt appear. There was one day that there were so many rubbish in the room that it pilled up out of the bin. After so many unpleasant situations, the hotel didnt do anything to at least compensate it... Despite having stayed there for 12 veeeery long days. Wouldn't recommend to anyone from my family or friends.
Hotel is a great place to stay in Jersey City, clean Spacious rooms, great service, Jessa at front desk was wonderful, 5 min walk to path trains into manhattan in less than 10 min, or you can take the ferry, large mall 2 blocks away and grocery store 5 min walk, lots of dining and shopping nearby, However have stayed here many times and was disappointed by the breakfast offering, it was a not as it was, no music, just a dead zone, no salmon, no cooked to order omelette the staff doesn't seat or greet you just a 34.00 seat yourself and sign when you leave, completely self-serve, way over priced for the offerings provided. Other than that it was a great stay. parking 32.00 a day safe attached garage.
We stayed for 2 nights as a family to explore NYC. Checking in was fast and easy, including 5 warm cookies. Room was a sweet on 14th floor with 2 queens and sofa bed. Awesome views on Manhattan. Parking costs 27 plus taxes - quite OK for Jersey City. Bar closes at 10pm on Saturday, a bit early. Did not try breakfast. Downtown Manhattan is just 2, 75 with Path and station is less than 10 min walk. Great for a weekend.
Just stayed here and on 7/9. First time staying here and loved it. Front desk staff that checked us in and upgraded us to corner room with view for being Diamond members. Used our daily food credit for being a Diamond member for drinks from bar. Drinks were very expensive. Parking is a deal at $27 and is self park. Walking distance to a great rooftop restaurant/bar at 10 Exchange Place. Walk to PATH train station to get into NYC. Also walkable to Shop Rite grocery store. Will stay here again.
Me and my family stayed two nights last week in this hotel. Our rooms were very big and the hotel is very noce. The only negative side are the employees. Except the lady that checkined us, the Front Office Mangaer and the Restaurant Manager were too unpolite and rude. We are gold team members and in general we have or complimentary breakfast or the F&B credit. That “women” in a very bad mood told us that we had to pay for the breakfast and we had only the 50% discount. But we contact thr hilton honors assistance and they obviously give us the refund. So if you want to be part of Hilton Hotels chain you must know perfectly all the benefits and policies of the guest! Studied more next time on the lobby site ( do you remember this sentence?) you are so ridicoulus!

My friend and I stayed at the DoubleTree Hotel in Jersey City on Saturday night for plans we had in Hoboken. I am a Diamond Team member, and it was my first time utilizing my Hilton/TM benefits. My initial interaction with the hotel was via online message over the app.. I spoke to Tabitha & Jessa. Both of which were extremely kind and helpful answering my questions. When we arrived at the hotel, parking was very easy to find in the midst of Jersey City. We checked in with Jessa, Tabitha, and another young lady, but I didn't catch her name. All of them were polite, helpful and knowledgeable about the hotel & area. Tabitha even went the extra mile and assisted us in taking pictures outside the hotel. At night, we ordered room service, and it only took 20 minutes for the food to be prepared. To add, the beds were very comfortable, we were able to check-in early (as per my request), and the hotel seems to be in extremely good condition. The next morning, we dined at the buffet and all the food was delicious. The one minor negative comment I have is that the food was a bit overpriced. However, it was Jersey City (near NYC); therefore, the location is pricier than what we are used to. Aside from that, everything else was amazing. I will definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family. And if I return to the area, I will be back for sure! Thank you!
I came to Jersey City for the first time to run the narathon there, and this location and place was perfect! The views, the restaurant for breakfast, and the customer service by Tabitha were all off the charts!
This was a family trip to NYC and staying in this Jersey City location was a very good choice for ease of access to Manhattan from both Grove Road and Newport PATH (a few minutes walk to each). The reason I booked the Doubletree was that it appeared to be the only hotel that had suite style rooms that could accommodate a family of 2 adults and 2 children (13 & 11). I thought we would achieve this using a rollaway and the sofa bed. I booked in an advance to get a good price and paid 3 months in advance via the Hilton website. I communicated with the hotel 3 times ahead of the stay to confirm they had 4 of us in the room and that the rollaway and sofa bed was being made up. I arrived at 3pm to find the room was ready, but neither the sofa bed was ready, nor the rollaway was in the room. There were also on 2 towels. I informed the front desk and they apologised and had housekeeping work on fixing this. I also realised that the sofa bed was so uncomfortable (despite recommendation from a past TA review for this hotel saying it was comfy) it was an think mattress and you could feel the springs, plus the sheet was dirty. Luckily, I resolved this myself when I saw Housekeeping and they offered an additional rollaway which solved this issue and 2 rollaways fitted in our room (just!) The wifi was pitiful in our corner room, maybe it works better in other rooms, but I had to use 4G to do anything online. The breakfast was so expensive. $40 for the buffet which was really not that extensive, but then suddenly the buffet changed to a la carte on one of our days and this meant it took well over 30 minutes to get food, then the next day with no explanation the buffet was back. By this time we had discovered Wattle Cafe a few minutes walk away where we could eat as a family for under $50. The hotel is one of the Doubletree's older style properties and definitely needs and update soon. I am not sure I got the best deal, when I was at the front desk one of the staff were telling a guest to check Booking.com for the best deals, which is galling to hear when you just handed over over $2000 to Hilton.com because they said it was the unbeatable deal. That said, the staff were all great and very helpful, but clearly they are busy and they need more people at busy times. The hotel location is great for PATH, ShopRite supermarket and Target and the local restaurants near Grove Road - Left Bank Burger is a highlight. I would probably have looked at a different hotel for next.
I waited on the phone for 20 minutes to place my order and got nothing. Lack of respect for the guest/customer.
This is a great place to stay as the location and service is the best. I've stayed here exclusively multiple time in the past one year and plan to stay more in the future when I'm in Jersey City for work or visiting the area with my family. The breakfast has a good selection, the rooms are in good condition and the entire staff (restaurant, housekeeping and front desk) are the best. A special shout-out to Tabitha at the front desk for her outstanding service to make the stay comfortable for me and my family. We will be back !
