Great food, cocktails, ambience, and service. I will definitely come back to try more on the menu!
I didnt see the mommy rat but still
Lovely restaurant and experience and the food is fine. But my goodness what’s with the prices? $30 for a smash burger is absurd. $51 for skirt? Please consider reducing even as little as $3-$4 and repeat business will improve I bet.

This has got to be one of the best meals my boyfriend and I ever had! The Caesar salad was so creamy and a good amount to be able to share! I would definitely get the chicken yakitori as well as that might've been the juiciest chicken I have ever had! I would highly recommend getting the skirt steak or the Lumache pasta. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were super attentive and the service was amazing! Highly recommend for a date night or a girls night as I would come back here again and again!
Came here mainly for the prawns and that ended up being the highlight of the meal. The prawns were cooked really well, tender with a nice bite, but the sauce is what makes this dish worth coming back for. It’s rich but balanced, with scallion oil and a touch of chili oil on top that adds a lot of aroma and depth without feeling heavy.
The crispy mushrooms were just okay on their own, a bit too cheesy for my taste, but dipping them into the prawn sauce actually worked surprisingly well.
The lumache pasta had a strong olive oil presence and leaned a bit salty, though the pork inside was cooked properly.
The pork katsu was disappointing. It looks big, but the pork is pounded extremely thin, and the breading ends up thicker than the meat, making it dry and not very satisfying.
Service was fine and efficient. Overall, I’d come back specifically for the prawns, but probably skip the rest.

The vodka martini was so good the blue cheese olives were hand stuffed and I LOVED the Japanese vodka.

Incredible cocktails and high level service experience. Love this place. My go to for an elevated night out.
The service was phenomenal! Super friendly and attentive. The only downside of the experience was that there wasn't any Diet Coke available. Please consider adding it to your menu for us Diet Coke lovers!
Jane Doe, Jersey City truly impressed us from start to finish.
We began with the layered fries and chicken yakitori, and both appetizers set the bar high. The fries were perfectly cooked—crispy on the outside, soft on the inside—and the truffle sauce was genuinely finger-licking good with an incredible depth of flavor. The chicken yakitori was juicy and well seasoned; while it was delicious on its own, a dipping sauce would have made it absolutely perfect.
For mains, we ordered the pomodoro pasta and a chicken entrée, and both delivered once again. The pasta was cooked just right, and the pomodoro sauce tasted fresh, light, and vibrant. The chicken dish was flavorful and satisfying, and the side of sweet potatoes was surprisingly addictive—soft, well-seasoned, and comforting.
The absolute highlight of the meal, though, was dessert. The olive cake with limoncello deserves a special mention—it was hands down the best part of the evening. Moist, beautifully balanced, not overly sweet, and packed with flavor. This is a must-try, no questions asked. I’m already planning to order two slices on our next visit.
Lastly, the service deserves major praise. Even on New Year’s Eve, everything came out quickly, efficiently, and with great attention to detail. The experience felt smooth and well-managed from start to finish.
Overall, Jane Doe is a standout spot with excellent food, thoughtful execution, and top-notch service. Can’t wait to go back.

They do not allow substitutions for meat in dishes and will remove the meat in pasta if you ask but won’t add any vegetables and don’t reduce the price either.
Amazing cocktails, amazing food, amazing staff! We LOVE this place. Best dirty martini in JC.
I took my best friend and his FIANCÉ for a double date to celebrate their engagement. The staff made us feel like we were the only people in the world. Great drinks. Make sure to try the charred cabbage.
Had an awesome time at Jane Doe. The highlights for us were the KFC Sliders and the Mafaldine, but honestly everything we tried was excellent. The cocktails were creative and well-balanced, and the service was fantastic from start to finish. Special thanks to our server Quin for going above and beyond and making my friend’s birthday feel truly special. Can’t wait to come back.
