Great for a date or girls night, packed but somehow we got bar seats immediately. Staff was kind, lighting was right, cocktails were above par and food was fun and different! WILL be coming back for half priced pasta on a Tuesday.

The inside was busy but had a really cozy feel - definitely geared toward a more mature crowd compared to downtown Grove Street on a Friday night.

The prices were on the higher side but not over the top. But sitting outside worked perfectly, for a girls night.

The bartender knows what he's doing with the cocktails, the food was amazing, & our waiter was great - honestly, no complaints.

I’d definitely recommend it and would go back again.

Meh… the food was alright, and at least the drinks weren’t watered down. But the prices? A bit much if you ask me—think Olive Garden pasta, but served under dim lighting. And I couldn’t help but notice the drinks were being mixed with less-than-sterile hands. Food portions compared to cost were just absurd.

The place is called Jane Doe, and I only ended up there because a local 4.8 Mexican spot didn’t serve liquor. It’s clearly set up to take advantage of the surrounding neighborhood, where I guess people haven’t developed much of a palette yet. The reviews rave about the pasta, but come on… this isn’t fine dining. Maybe it’s ‘Jersey City backwoods fine dining’ at best, but definitely not what anyone with taste would consider traditional or modern fine dining.

Bottom line: I’ll make sure not to stumble in there again. Everyone else can do as they wish—it’s a free country. Mediocre spots like this need to exist, if only to make us appreciate the better things in life.

What a find! Italian/Japanese fusion that just works. The meatball skewers are INSANE. Loved the pork katsu too. Perfect date night spot.

Saw this place and just walked in.

The price seems artificially high for JC even for NYC. I've rarely seen a burger priced at $30 even in NYC with pretty nothing loaded except for some onions and it was bland like no salt added meh. The layered fries were super oily and left bad taste. I think their lunch prices and specials make sense but even for that price, I am not getting a burger.

The pasta was good though and luckily we got some chicken. I understand authentic pasta usually does not come with meat and what is why I usually do not like ordering them.

The service is good and atmosphere is fine. The drinks are expensive as well. I think it tries to price itself as some higher end places but I would expect much more from the food itself otherwise I am only a few stops away from some of the greatest restaurants in the world for similar prices.
