This place has just the right ambiance. It can be relaxing for close friends/ family or romantic for a date. The service felt like fine dining while the space felt unfussy and welcoming. Even the seat was quite comfortable. The food is great but not exceptional, and the one cocktail I tried was mediocre.

The team behind dullboy and Orale has done it again - this place hits the mark perfectly, this time as a funky, sexy, cocktail-forward, upscale restaurant ideal for a really good date. Not _quite_ fine dining, but everything feels thoughtfully luxe, from the interior design (impeccable lighting, gorgeous modern wood paneling, soaring ceilings, and excellent sound system) to the menus (the cocktails are every bit as dialed in as at dullboy or Orale, and the food menu is inventive and always exceptionally executed, though the selection of food is a little bit unfocused). The staff are delightful and, as you'd expect from Hecho restaurant group, _very_ good at what they do :-) Come here for dates, treating yourself to a really good cocktail in beautiful surrounds, and celebrations of all kinds.

Service was phenomenal. Had really interesting concoctions, tasty apps, and very decent sized portions. Friendly wait staff and fresh ingredient. Get the snickers desert!

Service was A+. Our server was attentive and personal! The food was beyond expected, and a mix of Italian and Asian drinks set the stage for a good intimate gathering.

Inexplicably unavailable on Trip Advisor. They should fix that. Good: cool vibe, unique food, if a bit bland. Bad: We had an in - training server, and that’s good, but the drinks order was fumbled more than once. For $16, the cocktails were very skimpy at best. Really? The menu tries to be too hip. I ordered the pork, with no information or explanation that it would be deep fried. Actually, the server made no effort to explain the eclectic menu, or specify the fish of the day. Not for me. Sunday night, with the place half full, we were rushed out. With better management, again MANAGEMEMT, this Italian -Japanese fusion might make it. Maybe. Stiffen the drinks. Depressurize the servers. Make your menu more understandable, and customer focused, and quit trying to be so edgy. It shows. Just be great. They will come. You might realize your dream.

This place never fails! Their food is out of this world and their service is on point. We’ve been here 3 times total and each time we get so excited about what we are going to order and the new items in the menu. This place is great for date night or a night out with friends. Highly recommend the lasagna fritta!!

Went to Jane Doe to celebrate our friend's birthday. First off all the drinks we tried were amazing. Love atmosphere and the dim lit light. Food was phenomenal esp the shrimp scampi pasta. It was my favorite. The service was also on point. Great spot for date night or outing with friends.

The night before my reservation the restaurant called to tell me that they would strictly enforce their 90 minute service rule and that for my 630 reservation I would need to leave my table by 8. When I called to tell them I'm running late they reminded me of that rule once again. When I called again when I realized my Uber dropped me off at the wrong location, it was already almost 7 and given my locations, I would've arrived at the restaurant by 730 at best. Who would go to a reservation knowing they had to eat and leave the table within an hour of being seated? The restaurant once again reminded me that because of being late for my 630 res that I would need to leave the table by 8 because of the party after me. I knew I would have only an hour at my table, so I had to cancel; and when the restaurant wasn't willing to accommodate any adjustments or my request to cancel and waive the fee, I expressly told the employee that I could not make the res and that I was fine with the fee since they would not waive. I did not just "not show up". I was in consistent contact with the restaurant and despite the circumstances beyond my control prohibiting me from making my res in time, they were unwilling to accommodate. Needed to update the review to provide additional details; but thank you to the owner's message below regarding waiver of the fee. I appreciate that.

The food was delicious and unique. Not the usual choices, and well presented. The Ambience was young and energetic. The service was attentive and friendly also very accommodating. My husband has some food sensitivities which they were very kind and helpful

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this gem. The ambiance was exquisite, creating a perfect setting for a delightful meal. The staff's friendly service added to the overall experience, making it a memorable evening. We ordered the meatballs and ricotta dip for an app which was delicious but not amazing. The ricotta toast is great if you're a balsamic fan, but I wouldn't recommend it for someone who dislikes it since it's heavily drenched in it. Rigatoni was delicious. 4/5 Full of flavor, just a tad too salty. The fried lasagna was also delicious, but just slightly burnt. Never had fried lasagna before but it was just a noodle with some ricotta, cheese. The sauce is a bit more plain compared to the rigatoni, but still pretty good. Snickers dessert: 4/5 Tasted like snickers ice cream with caramel and chocolate drizzle! Overall a great experience and would come back here to try other dishes. Definitely one of the better restaurants in Jersey city. Perfect if you're looking for a fancier spot to go to for a date/night out.

Due to the subpar food and poor customer service of the manager, I would never eat here again.  We purchased 4 different dishes that were all subpar – octopus, meatballs, chicken yakitori and Farinata.  In all honesty, none of these are worth a second trip here.  In addition, my husband is a connoisseur of Manhattan drinks, but he prefers it with a large ice cube because of the slow melt.  We asked if they had a large ice cube and the server said they did.  The drink was served mistakenly delivered straight up.  When we asked for the large ice cube, they brought a glass with the ice cube.  What we didn’t know until we received the bill was that they charged us $1.00 for an Ice cube.  Yes, you got that right,  $1.00 for an ice cube!!  When we asked the manager about it, he rudely said that was the cost.  Look, I know that a $1.00 is not the much, but it is the principle of the thing.  Are we now charging for ice without a mention to the customer; and when a complaint is made, there is no interest in trying to maintain the relationship with the customer.  I will never return to this place – sadly because it is actually nicely decorated.  However, if the food is just o.k. and management doesn’t care about its customers, it is just not a reputable place.  Please go somewhere else as this place is quite disappointing!

I really wanted to love this place. It’s beautifully decorated. It’s elegant- the velvet curtains on one wall, dark lighting and the tall ceilings are great. Definitely an NYC vibe in JC. We were greeted by friendly host and seated at a great table at the very end of the long seating area. Cozy and very comfortable. I asked for one ingredient not to be added to my cocktail and you’d think I was insane for not wanting spicy in my drink. I was told it couldn’t happen as it would ruin the drink, so I said I’ll stick with tap water. Lo and behold, they were able to accommodate my request. We ordered three appetizers. The bean dip was delicious. Maybe my favorite the whole night. The bread that came with it was delicious as well and they kindly provided us with another portion. The meatballs Yakatori was ok- I wasn’t impressed with the actual meatball. The fried lasagna- we were so excited but it was definitely over fried- it tasted burnt and was so hard to eat.We ordered the pork Milanese which was similarly burnt/fried but was saved by the delicious vegetables that came with it. The rigatoni was fantastic- lots of yummy garlic and sauce. The bone marrow caccio e pepe was good but slightly undercooked. We shared the limoncello cake which was fine. Nothing great.Service was very attentive- almost annoyingly so. I appreciated the check ins but was a bit excessive. I will say everyone was very friendly and there are a few other dishes I would like to try.

Jane Doe boasts a sleek and stylish interior, creating a refined atmosphere. The food is delicious. However, we found the drink portions to be smaller than expected. Nevertheless, the service is commendable, with attentive staff. Overall, a must try.
