I just want to leave words of appreciation and love for Peja, Louie, and this wonderful espresso bar. The warmth and genuine beauty that permeates from this place is palatable. There are a lot of cafes in downtown Jersey City, why do I recommend you venture down to the sketchier side of Newark ave to visit this one?
Hidden Grounds, Lackawanna, Sober Shot, Rabble & Lion, Butler Cafe; all of these cafes I would classify as “elevated Starbucks.” They specialize in flavored-lattes, chai, matcha, and ___-a-chinos because this is what most people like.
Kaffa is more of an old-school, euro-style cafe. They serve absolutely delicious Neapolitan espresso you cannot find anywhere else in downtown JC. The cafe is clean and relaxed, with a great selection of pastries and Italian sodas to enjoy with your coffee.
I believe the owner is the same as the Balkan Barbershop up the street. I couldn’t be happier they opened Kaffa and will continue to visit as often as I can.
Favorite coffee shop in JC so far! Great coffee and excellent service. The owner is always friendly and welcoming to everyone who comew in. It’s perfect for a catch up with a couple friends indoors or outside where they have a few tables or to work from there.
