Best Nigerian restaurant in NJ/ NY… where do I start from?? The meatpie takes me back and is so consistent! The goat meat is OMG!! As for the jollof rice.. no contest! My whole family is hooked. The restaurant is clean, a lot of attention to details and the portion is first class! The service is also exceptional! When you visit start with the chin chin! You will never be the same. Love the restaurant / ambience!!! Don’t snooze on this little gem!

I’m not familiar with African food but my daughter wanted to try some. We ordered the Jollaf goat rice, and spinach chicken with yam and peanut chicken with Kasava and the meat pies. Everything was great and the young man at the front desk said it was all halal. It’s a new restaurant and I hope that they succeed.

I have been here several times for dine in and take out and on all the occasions I ate at Kings Pride, either dine in or take out, the meat takes stale, if you request for goat meat, they will give you very tiny or no goat meat in your soup at all and this is common with the vegetable soup efo riro, she will have her son prepare your food there by making rubbish for you to eat and many times the soup is so tasteless and the dry fish is not cleaned before they put it in the vegetable soup to serve to me and my husband. When I told her there was no goat meat I requested for in my soup, she told me her son helped to cut the goat meat in tiny pieces which puzzled me that who does that? then she told me she will give me another goat meat and she did after about 10mins of complaining about her service delivery and food preparation. It is pathetic to eat stale meat and vegetable soup that often tastes a bit sandy as if it was not well washed. Stale meat can cause food poisoning. I told her all this before I walked out of her restaurant and I told her I will never come back having endured the unpleasant experience about 5times or more on different occasion. When people come to eat, is not because they can't cook they just want to enjoy leisure. Bad experience!
