Amazing food with such kind owners! I wanted to try a new filipino restaurant and this just went beyond my expectations. We even got to enjoy some karaoke while waiting for our food which gives you a sense of being home again. I’m looking forward to seeing this business grow!

The lady at the front door greeted us and went far beyond to make our experience a good one. The Cook went out of his way to tell us tips and tricks on how to get around NJ. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is getting Filipino cuisine the food is amazing I had the Taho and it was amazing along with the caldereta both were made to perfection

I stumbled upon this restaurant and felt it was serendipitous the moment I spotted Batangas Lomi on the menu! As a proud Batangueña, I've earned the right to be a discerning judge of this beloved dish—and let me tell you, I was absolutely delighted! It hit all the right notes and transported me straight back home with every slurp. My husband was equally satisfied with his meal.
The staff were incredibly friendly, and the atmosphere struck the perfect balance between laid-back comfort and that warm, community feel that makes you want to linger. Battling the traffic from Manhattan to Jersey was absolutely worth this impromptu culinary adventure at Meryendang Pinoy, and we'll definitely be making this a regular pilgrimage!

Meryendang Pinoy is soooooo good!! I love the concept of street food and comfort food. I would order everything on the menu if I could, but that’s okay bc I will be back! Today I came with my sister and our dog. We were worried about our dog not being able to come inside the restaurant but they welcomed him with no problem! They also have two cute outdoor seating tables if that feels more comfortable or enticing to you for those with dogs or that want to enjoy the weather.

As for food we got: fish ball, squid ball, tokneneng (similar to qwek qwek but with chicken egg), lomi batangas, magic water, taho, ice scramble, cheese ice cream, and banana cue! Oh my goodness we got so much because it all sounded sooooo good, and we were right! ****The food exceeded our expectations.**** My sister and I are Filipino-Americans so some of these items were familiar and some were not, we love to try new things especially when it comes to Filipino food because it really brings us back to our roots. All the food came out hot and cooked with care. Definitely give the drinks a try if you haven’t tried already! And the desserts… come on, it’s A MUST. There aren’t many places selling taho in NJ, let alone ice scramble, so that was what really brought us here besides the tusok-tusok.

As for my dog, he made a new friend. The owner’s kid was really adorable and loved to pet our dog. I love family-owned business like this because it just feels like such a warm welcoming environment. If you come here don’t forget to look out for “Jared’s Sari Sari” and definitely show some love and support by buying a pack of chips! The mini sari-sari in the store was so adorable!! I recommend buying some Filipino snacks to resell! Even tho he priced the Cheetos at $3 I still bought it because it was the cutest little stall I’ve ever seen. Plus, maybe a great lesson to never sell yourself short! I’ll pay $3 for a tiny bag of chips any day! He was very convincing and sweet, and threw in an extra bag of Doritos too. Hahaha. Will definitely be back soon! Thank you so much!!

Meryendang Pinoy is such a gem in Jersey City! They serve amazing Filipino street food along with classic Filipino dishes that taste just like home. The restaurant is very clean and well-kept, and the owners are super friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. Some of my favorites are the tapsilog, Batangas lomi, lumpia, adobo, kikiam, ube scramble, and fish balls. Everything is packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. Highly recommend this spot if you’re craving authentic Filipino food!

We have been patrons of meryendang Pinoy since 2020. We appreciate the establishment's commitment to making everything to order, ensuring great quality, and the owners Jhonacel and Josan are exceptionally friendly and good people. If you are nostalgic for Philippine street food and desire an authentic taste, then this is the ideal destination for you. Thank you meryendang Pinoy for consistently delivering flavors reminiscent of our childhood.

Ordered takeaway food was good heavy on rice but fair pricing. Not too flavorful but in a good way. Reminded me of home cooking nothing that would upset the stomach like how some restaurants are too heavy with things
