Unfortunately I can not call and no other way to contact. I have a question: Is the Restaurant open on the 26th December?
Visited a couple of times. Nice food. Plenty of options for gluten free and fish dishes. Plain salmon salad is very nice. Attentive service.
Been here for the last time nearly 3 years ago just prior Covid started. And now still Great food, comfortable athmosphere and all that for a good price - go there!
Waiting staff needs training. A bit rude for the waitress to not take orders for at-least 20 minsand not give the drinks menu upon asking.
Quick business lunch between conference meetings. Place filled up quickly but service was good and they kept up the pace without making us feel rushed. Plenty to choose so try it if you want a classic NJ diner experience
Wonderful breakfast! I had done my homework, we were staying in a fairly local hotel with appalling breakfast reviews and City Diner was highly recommended. We ordered The Morning Sampler. Wowser! Huge portions and delicious. Thanks Matthew for looking after us! Highly recommended!
We were staying at a hotel down the street from the City Diner and stopped in for dinner at the end of a long day. The food was so good that we returned again the next day for lunch. They were quite busy at lunch - looked like the crowd was locals on their lunch break as well as visitors like us. Happy to recommend this place!
Was exploring the area on foot. Stumbled on this place by accident, really. Great diner. Small but nice upscale vibe with reasonable prices and great service. Glad I stopped here.
Meet my brother here once a month for lunch. LOVE the food. But, the dessert is awful. No selection at all. And, what you DO get for dessert,is awful. I don’t understand it. How the food can be so wonderful, and dessert is a big disappointment
This is a go to restaurant whenever we stay in Jersey City. Breakfast all day, full bar, healthy and decadent options. The only criticism is how hard it is to decide what food mood you are in when you see all the choices.

Is this a joke. Best restaurant in Jersey city? You have to be kidding me. I’ve lived in jersey city for 30 years and have dined out a lot. I know there are very few good restaurants in jersey city. They are mostly overpriced serving very mediocre food and the City Diner falls under that category at best. City Diner sells very very average food, an average dinner, nothing more nothing less and it is not cheap. It is not even close to being the best restaurant in jersey city. It would be lucky to make the top 100. I highly question the authenticity of these reviews. Go try for yourself.
Milkshakes were good. We also had French toast, pancakes, quesadilla and the cheeseburger. They were all good. The server Tyler was very nice and brought us a lot of water due to our dehydration.
Excellent choise of differnt breakfast. Staff great and reasonable prices - good location. We stayed a Hyatt Regency and their staff recommended city diner
Went two days in a row for Breakfast, Friday & Saturday. Food was top class, nice clean place, booth seating is great. Only small critique was our waitress on the Friday was far more attentive than the male waiter we got on the Saturday, he sort of disappeared so no coffee refill yet on Friday this was no issue. Still I’d return, see yah next time.
Stopped in to have lunch there, the restaurant was a block up from our hotel. The place was crowded but there were seats still available, I was not sure if there was a second floor. The service was fast and the food was tasty.
