New bergen bread & butter

I went to ask for a sandwich and told them I have an egg allergy, to not cook it where they cook egg. So I’m watching the cook and though he uses a different surface, he is using the same utensil to cook that he just made a bacon, egg & cheese with.
I told the guy in the front I didn’t want it and I wasn’t going to pay for that and he started arguing with me, definitely not going in there again.

Nick, the owner of New Bergen Bread & Butter refuses to accept Amazon packages for neighbors as a simple courtesy, despite our apartment being right next door.

For two years, I’ve been a friendly customer, but Nick demands $150 a year to hold packages—something most local businesses do for free to build goodwill. This isn’t even part of their official deli operations, but it’s a basic neighborly gesture he’s turned into a cash grab. His attitude is off-putting, and it’s clear he doesn’t value community or customer loyalty. I’d happily support the deli if he showed basic decency, but instead, he chooses to be unhelpful and greedy. On top of that, the food, the service, and the atmosphere are mediocre at best , Nick’s behavior leaves a bad taste all around.

Avoid if you value businesses that care about their neighbors!!!

Best tasting sandwiches in the area! Nick is a pleasure to see every morning - very hospitable and nice.

They Scam the kids that go to the store and change and higher prices Everyday

Ordered an egg and cheese on a roll through Grubhub and they put ketchup on my sandwich. No where on Grubhub does it say the sandwiches would come with ketchup. I’m allergic and now I’ve wasted time and money on something I can’t even eat! Reached out to Grubhub and they couldn’t do anything. Contacted the store and they were very nice but unable to deliver a new one because they were short staffed.

I love this place, it was my go to place for my favorite chicken salad, and the seasonal Mango juice! Now, i go for the sandwiches, the breakfast and to win the lottery!

Love place tasting sell really food

When you order an egg n cheese and you wonder where the egg or cheese is on your roll?! Places like this need to be shut down! Embarrassment!

This place is clean, reasonable prices and cool staff

The place itself is very charming especially people working. Enjoyed mouthwatering sandwiches and hospitality. Nice and clean place, it feels like a home. The owner himself is a nice gentleman who would be helping you out tremendously. If you are in jersey city must visit this place.
