New to the area and wanted a beer and burger so I Yelped this place. Drove past and wasn't sure I wanted to go in as the area around was very seedy, and the tavern had no sign out front and was really run down looking. However, I decided to go in with my boyfriend. The food was awesome and the service was great!! A must try, but bring Cash, it's a cash only place. Chili and Pastrami were great too!

Maybe you guys should be controlling your alcohol a little better due to the numerous off-duty police officers that come up and down the street acting like this is a racetrack whoever the owner is of this bar is irresponsible by allowing these guys to get over drunk if you guys already don't have a limit maybe you guys should set a limit or have alcohol compliance officer or something they all do the same thing after being approached about their behavior they wave their badge like it means something I'm guessing having a badge allows that type of behavior..... The day my kids get hit by one of these guys is the day I'm going to have it out with the owner and the j Jersey City police department cause it's an eye for an eye in my world...

The battle continues of the best burger in NJ between Park and Krugs in Newark and I go with Park Tavern because of the location , service, ample space, The people who work there and the crowd in general which is very laid back. Great spot overall a true classic not to be replicated spot. —Sonny
