Rude. Forces people to REMOVE THEIR MASKS instead of allowing people to wear their masks if they chose during a pandemic. Claims wearing a mask is anti-American - IMO it’s anti American to not wear a mask and protect other Americans who are older or have persisting conditions or no conditions at all bc Covid can put anyone from any age in the hospital it’s like Russian roulette you never know how it’s gonna affect you. So rather than protect their community and patrons and em

So this is for the owners of pasta n vino. Not sure if everyone knows they have a spot under the restaurant called redroom lounge but what a rip off. First they charge an entrance fee, 2nd they let in nothing but ghetto a** people and finally THEY ADD AUTO GRATUITY TO CHECKS OVER 50 BUCKS!!!! i called the manager to ask him why and he says thats policy. Not for nothing but I'm in the business, i understand for parties of 6 or more but for checks up over 50 bucks??? Add auto grat???? Screw you guys! Atleast tell your customers or put it up on your windows or something, what a dump!

Average. Place was wide open at 430, no problem. Asked for seat away from door, was sat at table adjacent from door. Loud lady on cell phone entire meal, music not entirely inspired. Noodles on caccio al pepe rubbery. Requested different noodle but was told it wouldn't work. Flavor was good but not remarkable. Def some room for improvement.

LOL is all I can say. The place is a disaster.

This place is a disaster. No one knows what they are doing. The food is the saltiest I have ever eaten. The portions are ridiculously big. If quantity is your gage, you will like it here. It was good for a laugh as we made friends with other tables laughing at the bafoonery.

Though the service is good, I feel there is a lot of improvement in terms of the pasta quality and the presentation on the plate.

Very low key, cute location, good, tasty, not fancy, but far prices and good portion size. Try to leave room for the deserts - yum!

Ate here back in the summer when we first moved to the area, they had a 3 course special. SUCH. GREAT. FOOD. The cacio e pepe was delicious and the tiramisu was to die for. Will be here again!

I came here for dinner and drinks recently. Initially tired to go to another restaurant in the neighborhood but it was packed and I had forgotten to make a reservation. Luckily there was plenty of room at Pasta e Vino! I had heard good things about it from a friend so figured it was worth a try. The service was excellent, very friendly and helpful. They have a wide selection of drinks and happy hour is from 4-7 I guess every day?! Which is awesome. I went with the black dahlia drink. It was very good and strong! For an app I shared the fried calamari. The sauces it came with were both very good, a red and a white one. The calamari was tasty. For my main course I had the mushroom ravioli. I was worried it would be too creamy for me (being sensitive to lactose) but I asked and the sauce was not a heavy cream sauce. It was excellent and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes mushrooms! The pasta is very fresh because they make it on site. Didn't have room for dessert but the tiramisu sounded tempting!

I'm not mad at this spot. It has friendly service and a great atmosphere. However, for pasta "made on site" I'm not impressed. I was able to try two pasta entrees and both were just your average plate of pasta. When it comes to Jersey City eats and the surrounding areas, restaurants tend to NAIL IT on the food. From presentation to taste. Pasta e Vino did not do this. Would go back for an appetizer and happy hour, but not for dinner.

So simple yet so few get it right. The pasta is truly great. The burrata is out of this world. What a terrific place without hype. Cant wait to go again!

Service and decor are wonderful. Food is not traditional Italian. Pasta seemed mushy, and both the marinara sauce and the scampi sauce taste NOTHING like anything I’ve had at any Italian restaurant. And they didn’t tase good either.

In our quest to try some new restaurant in Grove Street we came upon Pasta e Vino last weekend. The ambience is quite cozy and the location itself is great but the pastas and drinks were just ok. We ordered two pasta dishes: 1. Pappardelle primavera 2. Spaghetti Pomodoro The primavera looked good but was just alright, not very tasty. We liked the spaghetti, nothing special flavor-wise though. For drinks we had Sangria which seemed quite diluted, honestly we have had better. The beer was good. The service was alright. Considering the location, the prices are similar to some other restaurants in the area, not too cheap but neither super costly. But the food didnt do justice. Maybe we came in with higher expectations from the pasta hence got disappointed.

Got this catered for lunch at work one day and it was so good! Had the Caesar salad, mushroom ravioli, spaghetti with marinara, and the tiramisu. Everything was delicious, no complaints.

Man, we had such high expectations at this restaurant. We went to celebrate my husband's birthday and as one of the Yelp Eliter reviews said, their appetizers set such a high bar. It hurts to give this place a low rating because the staff was extremely friendly and they even gave us a free tiramisu for the birthday boy. Appetizers: we really enjoyed the fried calamari and the bruschetta! Entree: we ordered the following: Malfadi Bolognese, Spaghetti alla Vongole, and the Pappardelle. Malfadi Bolognese: the pasta was extremeeeeeely doughy. Almost to a point where it was hard to enjoy it. Pappardelle: flavors were ok, but the pasta was constantly being stuck together that it really made it hard to eat. Spaghetti alla Vongole: love that they gave me 4 fresh clams, which made the dish look promising and made me think that the sauce was fresh clam sauce and garlic. However, the pasta was then sprinkled with a bunch of what looks like canned clams and the broth tasted like canned clam sauce as well instead of freshly made sauce. In addition, the spaghetti was almost so soft and thin that it was more like a chubby angel hair, which I personally don't love. This restaurants prides in its homemade pasta, but we thought it was a slightly disappointing experience since the pastas were either overcooked or too doughy or not well mixed into the sauce to separate. In addition, none of the pasta sauces were amazing. Really hope they make some big changes at this restaurant because we love pasta and really hoped to love this place.
