We came here for dinner in December 2023. We ordered three things: 1. Portobello Fries w/ a chipotle lime aioli - the aioli tasted like sour yogurt or something, and had an almost watery texture. The actual mushrooms were decent. I think we assumed it was vegan aioli, but looking at the menu now I think we were wrong. 2. Fried Oyster Mushroom Po' Boy - the menu said this has bibb lettuce, but it was fast food quality iceberg lettuce. Maybe they were out, but the iceberg lettuce was gross. The mushrooms were alright but not as good as the portabello fries. The bread was low quality. 3. Caramelized Onion Burger - The burger was fine, but the bun was soggy. We got it with a salad and the salad was the kind I would expect from a bad pizzeria. Like, iceberg lettuce, quarter tomato slices, and red onion. If you are at a vegetarian restaurant and the worst part of your food is the vegetable quality, something is deeply wrong.

From the food to the drinks to the live music, this place was awesome. Had the slider trio and loaded tots and they were insanely good. Staff was super friendly and all in all just good vibes all around. Definitely plan on coming back next

The atmosphere at Pet Shop is casual and laid-back, making it the perfect spot to unwind with friends after a long day. The staff is friendly and attentive, adding to the overall enjoyable dining experience.I highly recommend that when you do stop by Pet Shop try their delicious Cuban sandwich. You won't be disappointed!

My friends and I love to come here on a night out. The vegetarian menu is great, we love the cheese curds and the cauliflower wings! The bar staff have always been friendly and the drinks are great. I think the price point for this place is on par with the location.

By far my favorite bar in Jersey City! Great live music on Thursdays and they have a comedy nights in the basement.I did notice some bad reviews about the bartenders which surprised me. However, it’s a big place so it does get super busy on some nights. You may need to be a bit patient with getting a drink on super busy nights. That’s just part of going to a popular bar. I’ve never had issues with the staff.Lastly, they have a vegetarian bar food menu and the cauliflower wings are my favorite!

The service here is terrible, and the staff’s attitude is off-putting. The bartender lacks basic skills and seems to prioritize ignoring customers. If you’re looking for a good time, steer clear of this place—the bartenders will ensure your night is anything but enjoyable. ??

The bartender lack basic skills. They would ignore you for as long as they can before even serving you. I have noticed a trend about the racist vibes and would definitely not recommend to someone trying to have a good time because the bartenders there will make sure to ruin your night for you.

I'm prefacing this review by saying the five stars is for the bartender Morgan. I came in on a Thursday night to a decent crowd. I've been to this bar a handful of times and it has a nice atmosphere. There is the upstairs which has seating at the bar as well as tables. The downstairs is nice as well and has a different feel to it. I've never eaten here but a friend did and said the burger she had was amazing I am writing this review to highlight Morgan. When I was there Thursday night, a man who was definitely drunk sat down aggressively next to me and stared at me and she immediately noticed and discreetly asked if I knew him and I told her no. She could tell he was over-served and after making sure I was fine, she denied his drink order but she did it very politely and quietly and kept it between the two of them. She was adamant but nice and professional. I'm 30 years old and have been to many bars and I don't know if I've ever seen as good of a server as Morgan. She really handled that situation so well that I genuinely feel a lot of bartenders could learn from her. She did everything a good bartender should do and the way she spoke to him was very dignified. I really hope management/owners know what a good employee they have.

Morgan made me wait two minutes for a drink. Maybe that doesn't seem like a long time to you but to someone like me (high functioning alcoholic) it was two long ass minutes. It felt more like two years, the years it felt like were 1983 and 1997, simpler times when Shania Twain was still alive.

Love the staff and vibes. Good cocktails and wine selection. When they opened they had an amazing brunch and they rotated their menu items..... The menu hasn't been updated in a long time and could use a little freshen up. Otherwise it's my go to spot.

Very delicious and reasonably priced beer and ales. I did not try any of the food but the diners looked very happy. I shall return!

Pet Shop is what I imagine a local bar restaurant to be. It’s not a chain and is mostly frequented by familiar Jersey people . Warm , friendly atmosphere.Good for small gatherings and dates. Try the Buffalo Cauliflower. The drinks are also well made strong . Clean but not fancy .

Very surprised that they aren't more upfront on their website and Google page about the fact that this place is entirely vegetarian. The menu lists several different protein options on meals that are in quotation marks like "chicken" and "pork" which is the only indication that it is not a real protein but in fact some genetically modified, soy derivative, lab concocted, sludge formed into the shape of the meat it is trying to intimate.I'm all for vegetarian options, but there's no need to use fake meat if you know what your doing, and there's definitely no need to hide the fact that you are doing this from people that want to avoid highly processed imaginary food like that. All in, I was rather disappointed in their decision to hide what they are. If they had I wouldn't have wasted the time that I did buy going there and chosen another option from the get-go which is what I ended up doing in the long run.If they're hiding this stuff from all of their patrons and potential patrons God only knows what else they're hiding, I won't be back.
