best pizza in jersey city I traveled 40 min from central jersey for this pizza you don't know what you missing

Went by today(April 6th) for a routine too good to go pickup. It's usually very simple, you swipe on the app and go in and collect your food. I was met by this overly aggressive man who said there's no extra food and blamed me for swiping on my app before checking. Usually if there's no food a message is sent to the app from the restaurant before I even show up. This man said he didn't have the app and it was my fault for swiping before checking if there was extra food. I tried to explain that's not how it works, but this man was just as ignorant as he was unnecessarily aggressive. Usually I deal with a lady manager who is the sweetest, but tonight I was met by this smug ignorant individual who was unwilling to educate himself. He told me to come back tommorrow, I told him where's the lady manager I deal with who can actually communicate properly, He said very smugly well guess what I'll be here tommorrow too. Food is usually nice though! But for putting me in a situation where I have to deal with this person, a 1 star is all I have.

You didn't notify me that there wasn't surplus as you should instead I was met with this guy just shrugging and telling me to come tommorrow, that means you lack respect to the program and to people's time. Final Edit: No Boundaries were crossed. Your guy tried to blame me for swiping on my app instead of checking for if there was food first, when that's not how it works. All while being rude and dismissive for no reason. Throughout the interaction, I just told him he could've notified me through the app, to which he responded come back tommorrow and then I just left. Then here you are, also refusing to be held accountable and saying that you don't even take the TGTG people that seriously anyway. You can do whatever you want since you make zero profit, although I pay 6.39 for 4-5 slices of cold pizza that were going to be tossed anyway. Regardless, It's no wonder with your attitude and lack of accountability that your staff lacks people skills and common decency. I will be moving on and avoiding your depressing little spot with your depressing disrespectful staff. Also moving on from this post. Enjoy being a subpar human!
Wow only took me writing 3 paragraphs for you to admit there was an issue on your end. Also don't understand why you're part of TGTG if you think of them as bottom tier customers and not a priority and in your words you deny anyone especially TGTG people. Nobody's forcing you to participate. I won't come near you or your poorly run business again trust me.

I don't understand how this pizza got such a high rating. The service and atmosphere are great, but the pizza - disappointing. I'm a New Yorker who lived here for years, left and recently came back. Figured I'd try some pizza places in my neighborhood. 2nd one I've tried, 2nd time I've been let down. Pizza is dry, not nearly enough sauce or cheese and the crust was nothing special.

Yesterday I ordered a bake rigatoni dish. Not only did it look pretty, but it was delicious. The best I've had in a long time. I will definitely order again.

At first, it looked good. Then take a closer look at the margherita slices. “Sad” was how a friend of mine described it. It’s dough with splotches of whats supposed to be cheese & sauce and some sprinkles of basil. Good thing I got it as a deal on Ubereats and picked it up instead of getting it delivered so I didn’t spend too much money. But it’s still very disappointing. I really want to like this place because it’s very convenient & I met the new owner one time and she seemed very nice. Might be a while before I order from here again.
One of our favorite places in the city! We go often be it a latte on the way to the park, the amazing garlic parm chicken tenders ?for only $8! It’s a good deal! They also make this amazing breakfast pizza on the weekends and it’s to die for! You can also get homemade sweet treats! The seating area is comfortable and cute. I recommend calling your order in if you want to pick up, everything is made to order! Slice is the cheapest app to order through if you’d like delivery! Oh! And the RANCH!!! Love this place with my whole heart! Happy to support them for years to come ?!!

I used to come to Pompeii for years and had moved last year, the pizza I got today was not good at all. I got a margarita and a pepperoni. The crust was so thin, no sauce barely cheese and ingeneral just a lot lighter than before. As well my margarita was very hard and dry and flavorless. I'm kind of disappointed with this visit. I also asked my mom to pick it up and she said they were rude to her and when I called to place the order they told me to just order online. Idk I think I won't be return it just wasn't worth 40$

Whether you’re looking for a perfectly crispy slice, a hefty and delicious hot sammie, or a refreshing salad, Pompei is the place to go! There’s always lively music playing which provides a great atmosphere, along with the friendly and attentive staff. 10/10 have to stop in there! Also I have to mention the freshly baked goods, they’re perfection.
