Really cozy and nice Italian restaurant. Homemade pasta (and you can really notice the difference). We had the Tagliatelle with Mushrooms and the Spaghetti with Shrimp. Both were fantastic options. Their menu has many options to accommodate different preferences.
The staff is very friendly and nice. Alvaro - our waiter - was so nice and helpful.
If you are craving some Italian, this is a great choice.

We had a really lousy experience here recently. I felt discriminated from the get-go. Upon entering, the waitress wanted to seat us in the corner most table next to the door when the entire restaurant was almost 80% empty. I had to specifically give her an explanation for why we would prefer a spot inside to avoid the cold draft. We ordered bread (over-priced), margarita pizza, caprese, spaghetti. No drinks. Right away I started noticing the difference in treatment we got compared to people seated in other tables. I wondered if I got this treatment because 1) we are vegetarians 2) did not drink. The waitress was extra warm and friendly with others, offering suggestions and checking on them often. Nothing like that for us. It was very cold, matter-of-fact like. Food was average, not worth the price! We felt discriminated, that is a deal breaker. We won't be coming back

I had an absolutely terrible experience at this place. From the moment I walked in, the service was slow, unprofessional, and completely inattentive. It took forever just to get someone to take my order, and when the food finally arrived, it was cold, bland, and nothing like what was described on the menu.
The staff seemed disinterested, and when I brought up the issue with my meal, they were dismissive and offered no solution. To top it off, the place was unclean—sticky tables, dirty utensils, and an overall unhygienic atmosphere.
For the price they charge, I expected way better. Definitely not worth the money or the time. Avoid this place unless you enjoy disappointment!

I was hate crimed and gaslit by the owner…
A bartender who said he was “entitled to his beliefs” threw a zeig heil behind the bar on a busy Saturday. Manager saw. I emailed the owner. The owner asks me in.
Instead of an apology and a firm stance against fascism, this man attempted to gaslight and manipulate me into believing I didn’t see what I saw or experienced what I experienced.
To double down on a hate crime is by far the most disappointing and scary form of business ownership and it has NO PLACE IN JERSEY CITY.

Wanted to love this place, but it fell so short. Visited Roman Nose with a couple girlfriends the other weekend and left terribly disappointed. The bread was somehow both burnt and cold(?), my friend’s carbonara was so flavorless she made 2 of us try it to make sure she hadn’t lost her taste, and the chicken marsala left me feeling extremely ill. The service was good, a little slow but overall friendly and attentive. However, there was persistent ruckus and shouting coming from the kitchen that caused for a bit of an awkward dining experience. The interior is quaint and cute, but not enough to make up for the mediocre, bland, and overpriced food you get when coming here. For items you could find at any basic Italian chain, save your money and go somewhere else.

Made a reservation with my girlfriend hoping to try some of their authentic Italian food that is advertised online, but walked into only a prix fix menu. Let customers know that the original menu won’t be available on SPECIAL days like valentines. As someone that works in a family run restaurant, management needs some work. Very nice staff and atmosphere though, might will come back to try their original menu. Just dissapointed

Made a reservation for Valentine’s Day in advance, was looking forward to trying their pastas. Arrived and was told they were only making their prix fix menu which was not advertised at all on their website. Left right away and disappointed.
Nice place and atmosphere
Bland, average but overprice food. Prepare to pay 7.99 for a basket of 3 slides of bread and to drink the world smaller bottle of soda.
Most plates either have just pasta or the protein so you may have to order two plates to complete your meal.
They were not happy we did not have a reservation but half of the tables were empty until the time we left.

I ordered to-go spaghetti pomodoro and meatballs and give it 10/10. Both containers were packed with that delicious sauce and the meatballs are massive.

Best Italian restaurant ever
The food here was pretty good. The meat sauce pasta was delicious and tiramisu filling. However the grilled chicken could have been better. Tasted a bit too dry. Overall not bad

Had a lovely Saturday evening dinner at Roman Nose in Jersey City. Residents of Jersey City and have loved coming here on a regular basis. Unfortunately, our experience this evening was not our best. Claire, apparently the assistant manager, came over to our table to let us know as we had finished dessert and we’re paying our bill, that there were reservations on the table and she would like us to vacate as soon as possible. This was paraphrasing her words. We were both astounded as to her rudeness and let it go. I approached her at the front counter and told her I did not appreciate her rudeness and how she asked us to vacate the table. I then left to go to the washroom, and my boyfriend had said that she engaged with another customer And could tell from the body language that they were both saying that I was a real jerk for saying what I did. We were both very unhappy about this. My boyfriend was especially uncomfortable as they were making eye contact at the table where he was sitting, which also made him very uncomfortable. This dinner was over $100 and we were very much unhappy with this experience. We hope to never have this happen again, but will continue to go (for now) to Roman Nose. Very much, hoping the manager of Roman Nose sees this review and responds to it.

DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU HAVE AN ALLERGY
I went here with friends for dinner on a Saturday night and I’m still regretting that choice 5 days later. I usually don’t write reviews, but given how sick I’ve been after eating here, I’m going to be incredibly detailed.
Our server (who was also the hostess) was really pleasant once we were seated. I asked her if they have gluten free pasta and she said yes and also alerted me that the meatball appetizer is made with breadcrumbs in it. I really appreciated her looking out for me. When she told me about the meatballs I said “eh one meatball won’t kill me” - maybe that was my grave mistake.
While we were waiting for our food, I noticed that the menu had a large disclaimer on it, that “all pasta dishes are served al dente”. I thought that was weird considering most places serve their pasta al dente….
When my meal finally came out the pasta was legitimately crunchy. It wasn’t cooked through at all. I felt bad, but I asked the waitress/hostess if they could remake it… then the manager comes over and tries to explain to me what “Al dente” means. I didn’t want to argue, but expressed again that it was undercooked and some of the noodles were straight up HARD. She rolled her eyes as she took my plate away.
Fast forward: my new dish comes out and the manger comes back to again explain to me how pasta is boiled for some reason and emphasized that they shouldn’t overcook pasta?
Whatever- I say thank you for the new dish - I eat my meal and it’s significantly better than the first time. 30 minutes later I start feeling really sick… while I can’t confirm it, I’m almost certain they served me regular pasta the second time around.
I’m not celiac, but I have a pretty severe gluten allergy. I ate ONE meatball as my “cheat” meal of the day. Some breadcrumbs usually leads to a LITTLE discomfort for a few hrs.
After eating that pasta, Ive been sick for 5 days with all the telltale signs of eating a large quantity of gluten. Sever stomach cramps, joint pain all over my body, bloating, swollen hands and feet. I was bedridden for the entire day after eating here.
Again, I can’t prove anything but my suspicion is that they gave me regular pasta bc of my comment about eating the meatball or bc I complained about my original dish? Either way… the manager is rude af and they have a weird obsession with “Al dente” pasta.
Sidenote: my friends didn’t enjoy their meals either. Their red sauce is pretty bland according to her.
