Good bakery, tends to be busy when you want to go. Service workflow can probably be better

I’ve always loved this spot and the food is still great. Lately though, the coffee, which is the main reason why I come here, hasn’t been as consistent, and the drinks take a while to get. I am sharing this because I really value this spot and hope to see it return to its usual high standard

Tried a little bit of the bakery items and the chorizo sandwich . Just fantastic!

The coffee here was unfortunately pretty disappointing. The sandwiches were theoretically tasty - incredibly fluffy eggs and perfectly toasted bread, but even though there were jalapeños in the egg scramble, it still felt surprisingly bland. I also tried the sausage sandwich, and the sausage tasted like it had been boiled rather than pan-fried or browned on a griddle, which didn’t give any points to the sandwich

First time today. Got two buttermilk crullers, one cinnamon roll and two coffees. The pastries were so delicious, so delicate and perfect. The sweet level was just right, and the texture was so buttery soft. We loved the pastries and regret getting only one cinnamon roll. For the coffees I had a cold brew and my husband ordered a hot latte. They were fine. Definitely will be back for the pastries.

Bacon. Egg. And Cheese.
Only a toasted bun could’ve enhanced this bacon egg and cheese. And maybe some chives or green onions.
I’ve had hundreds of bacon/eggs/cheese sandwiches, but never one like this. It came with a delicious layer of sautéed onions and a surprise ketchup contrast on the top .
Scram has successfully found a way to put their signature on a classic breakfast option to provide a welcome variety.

So much better then other bakeries in the area. Double Batch bakery in Bayonne should take some tips from your pastries. You guys keep your sugar low and not overly flavored. Great coffee too.

I was visiting Scram regularly for the last five years. Great food, especially buns and great people.
But today cashier and a manager surprised me.
I ordered my favorite bun and coffee. It was a long wait, so 20 min in, I got few pastries and asked about bun, and was told that it will be right away.
10 min later I asked again, just to find out that they missed order for a bun.
But instead making it right and to make sure they will make it as soon as possible, I was told that i will need to wait another 10min and no one even said sorry about it.
When I asked for manager, she said that she is busy and have a lot of customer, and that my complain will make others wait, like it does not matter I was waiting for 30 min.
So literally no one care that they messed it up.
Folks, you can do it much better, I know.
Im not even mad, i just so disappointed.

Overall a great place, but it closes for breaks a bit too often.

Decent but could use some improvements. Feels a bit overhyped especially when youre essentially getting a breakfast sandwich and when you ask for hot sauce, a disgruntled employee looks at you disdainfully and says “UHM, we do NOT serve hot sauce here. Items are AS IS.”
With the weird hours and the pretty lackluster service, and the hit or miss menu items… it feels like yet another inconsistent meh jersey city spot. Pastries are decent though. Breakfast sandwiches are mid.

I'm only in town for four days and plan to repeat my coffee and pastry or breakfast sammie routine here every morning. Why? The assortment of craveable pastries/donuts and a scrambled egg/mushroom flavor bomb in a fresh baked gougeres roll. Ham, bacon and sausage are also options.
The staff is especially helpful and kind and the setting is charming. I arrive just before they open at 8am (they close at noon) so I can snag my favorite window table and relax before my day shifts into hectic mode.
It's my morning happy place and I have a feeling I'm not the only guest who feels that way. 🌅 🍩 🥓 🍳 ☕️

The Fontina sandwich is really good & a must try. The bun was soft, eggs were light + airy and the chili mayo added the kick! I also got the carrot pecan pie since they were out of cinnamon rolls. It was really good too!
My friends got the sandwich on the gougeres bread but they weren’t big fans of it, so wouldn’t suggest getting that!
We walked in around 9:00am on a Thursday morning and it wasn’t crowded. It became really busy after 9:30am!
I tried this place again and received crappy service…again. Want to love it and enjoy the pastries & coffee however I cannot get around bad service.
Best breakfast sandwiches in Jersey City!!
