Yes yes yes! We will be coming back for sure! Despite not having seats or being a traditional cafe, the baked goods here hit. the. spot. We got a pepperoni and cheese roll (kind of like a calzone but better), ricotta pastry and chocolate roll, and all three came out to $11 and the sizes were generous. Second Street Bakery does not skimp on the ingredients, and the pastries were field with pepperoni, ricotta and chocolate - everything was evenly distributed so every bite you took was perfect. Highly recommend this spot! The server was really kind and no frills. We look forward to returning and trying their sandwiches too!

This bakery is delicious! We were tipped off by family to visit, as this bakery has been around for quite some time. Try the fresh-made pizza, or the ricotta calzone for a quick/delicious treat! Take home the sausage or chocolate bread to enjoy during the week. They also make amazing Italian Subs, as well as baked platters. Do not miss!

I drive up from Middletown to come here because I got addicted to the lasagna while living in JC a few years ago. Best lasagna ever with tons of ricotta. I get it with one meatball and one sausage, which are also fantastic and so is the sauce. Their pepperoni rolls are also not to be missed. And I snagged the last chocolate bread today! Lucky me, it was my first time having it and it did not disappoint! The prices are also great, they could probably charge more and people would still pay it. ???

Just moved to Jersey from the UK and wow we love this bakery! Great value and everything we have tried so far is delicious. Lovely family business - definitely recommend.
Run, do not walk, to get the freaking most incredible pastries ever at this place! One, they are gigantic and can definitely be shared. Two, the best move is to get one cinnamon and one chocolate (they also have sweet ricotta cream filled, which is delicious, but the cinnamon and chocolate are DIVINE). Three, if you find yourself there for lunch and they have the pepperoni roll ups - get them! And you really can't go wrong with any of the sandwiches. Just be warned - cash only!

I left New Jersey in the summer of 2022 and relocated to the Orlando area of Florida. To say I miss Second Street Bakery's food would be an understatement. They say you don't realize what you've had until it's gone, or in my case, I'm gone.Second Street Bakery is a longstanding family business and a gem in Jersey City. It's not going to WOW your eyes with its aesthetics and pricey offerings. No, it's going to WOW your soul with really good food that makes you feel like you underpaid for it.Take the word of a transplanted Northeasterner, these places are becoming harder and harder to find so we need to keep them going. And while you're there let me suggest my favorite sandwich, it's a prosciutto with chunk provolone and sun dried tomatoes. Simple and perfect just like Second Street Bakery. Miss you all!
