The place was great, with a nice atmosphere and very friendly servers. Unfortunately, the manager completely ruined the experience. We requested a table, but the manager refused to seat us simply because one of my friends had ordered an appetizer from the front bar before we sat down. We even canceled the order just to get a table, but the way the manager handled the situation was rude and unprofessional. Hopefully, the owners of Surf City consider getting a better supervisor, because the rest of the staff and the setting were excellent.

Rating this place 2 stars… reason being, outside at parking lot inside it was amazing but we get here park in a empty place first time being here and they boot my car mind you there is no sign that we can’t park here then I try speaking to parking lot security which he wasn’t here when I got here and he told me it’s $200 for the removal then tells me
If I show him a receipt of surf city he’ll bring it down to $50. What kind of scam is that his name is Harvey delvine if spelled correctly. They should update this so people would know not to park here

Went when it was almost closing time, so everything was dying down. Still, the drinks are strong. The atmosphere is immaculate. Beautiful scenery. Most definitely will continue to visit

Our bill was $500, and we definitely didn’t get $500 worth of food. I used to love the watermelon salad here… but when I ordered it this time, it looked like someone took a slice of watermelon, hacked it up with a plastic spoon, tossed a pinch of garnish on top, and called it a day. I told the waiter there were literally three tiny pieces of corn in the salad and asked for a new one. She replied, “Well, there’s corn on there, right?” and walked away.

As you can see from the attached photos, my family and I were seated in the farthest corner of the dining area. The food came out like it was being rushed — the pizza was cold and we even had to cut it ourselves. It also seemed like anyone with kids was put in that section. The lighting was dim, and service was slow.

To be fair, the waiters were initially considerate, helping us put tables together and clean up before we sat down. But just a heads-up: regardless of service quality, if you go with a group, you’ll get hit with a “large party fee.” My family would have happily tipped fairly for the service we received, but the forced tip did not match the experience.

Maybe it was because we came around 6:30, and the service just goes downhill as the night goes on — but either way, the experience was disappointing.

Nice outdoor place for drinks and some food. Drinks are good & reasonably priced and food is decent . Very family oriented and kid friendly as well.

Cool vibes to chill. But the food is over priced. Portions are too small. Drinks are soso. Service is okay nothing extra. It was really good before 2022. But now it's bare minimum. The water front vibes is the only plus.

My review about this place is pretty much the same as what the other reviews say. Excellent location on the marina and a lovely vibe - especially enjoyable for large groups. However this is not a dinner destination as the food is alright but not great. I had the Tulum salad and the veggie burger. Good drinks. Service is a little slow but pleasant. Overall a great destination in Jersey City for some time out with friends!

Atmosphere was a vibe, many areas to pick from. We found this place on a whim. We were at Liberty park and got hungry. This was the best find. I had double cold lobster rolls. Hubby had the steak. Both of us were satisfied. I only get good lobster rolls from Boston. Now I’m coming here from now on.

I always enjoy myself here. There are various areas to sit, eat or have a drink. There's various bars. Dancing area, 2 beach areas and lounge areas. Awesome summer spot to start your night before you go somewhere else or you can easily stay for the whole night. My favorite bar tender is Diana. Make sure to tip her well.

This is one place everyone need to visit at least once. One of the only spot in jersey city that feels like the shore. Beach vibe, nice uplifting staff; and affordable menu items. Good for friends, family; or events. Check them out.

Great atmosphere and the most wanted place to be on a Saturday night in Jersey city when the weather is nice. Spacious place with all kinds of fun or all ages. Great drinks and food. Aperol spritz is my fav.

The location of Surf City is fantastic — the outdoor bar right by the water is absolutely amazing. The food is good, the portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable. The staff is friendly and welcoming. All of this deserves five stars.

However, I had to take one star off because the restrooms weren’t very clean, and the interior of the restaurant doesn’t have the same charm as the outdoor area. Thankfully, the outdoor space makes up for it and really adds to the experience.

I arrived at the restaurant by boat, which was a huge plus — you can dock right at the marina and walk straight into the restaurant from the water. That’s a fantastic convenience.

Overall, I had a great time and will likely return. I just hope the cleanliness standards improve a bit by then.
