Review here is about experience that happened last Nov. It was a bit of a strange experience. Basically my wife ordered doughnut plant donuts and zucchinis through the online menu for pickup. When she went there to pick up, the staff said the items were not available. She asked for substitute and then he told her to call the owner. She asked for the owner's phone number and he said he doesn't have it. He wasn't being helpful as how can she know the owners number? This discussion went on for 15 minutes till I came by to the store. Staff saw me and he finally allow the substitution. He said he thought she was the delivery person initially and not the customer. Still, he should provide a solution instead of "i don't know, call the owner". During that 15 minutes discussion, I reached out to their IG page. I mentioned the above but didn't hear anything back except for "I'll pass this to the owner"

So, this place was physically really cute, which is why we wanted to try it. But I have to say the food was a one-time try. I wouldn't go back. The bacon and meat was like a deli, but I was expecting something more special, as this is not a random deli. But the biggest issue was the staff!!! I dunno if I just caught them toward closing, but they clearly were packing up and ready to leave. I asked are you still open. They said yes, and I ordered to go. But they had such an attitude about it. Like, just tell me you're closed, if you don't want to take more orders! It was just disappointing. I have no reason to go back. A customer shouldn't be made to feel like a burden. Especially when I very nicely asked if they were still open. It's just rude. Sorry. Not everyone places orders online... some of us want to be treated nicely in person, as a customer...

First off as a former Jersey city native living in Cleveland, I love this place. The ambience is great, the service is impeccable, and the bites to eat are delicious!! This is a must on my trips back home.

I love coming to The Cottage! From their danishes to egg sandwiches, you can't go wrong. I love how fresh their pastries are! The place is cute inside and the service is always on point! I just wish they were open later!!! lol

Really wanted to like the place considering all the instagram marketing they do for their croissant cinnamon roll. We places a pickup order for 4 things and didnt love anything. The croissant cinnamon roll has no cinnamon (its more of croissant roll with frosting), the whole wheat spinach feta roll didnt taste fresh and lacked any seasoning, the peach cream cheese danish had more cream cheese than peach. They messed up our everything bagel cream cheese croissant and gave us something super messy looking which we just threw. The place isnt cheap, is calorie dense food which you want to taste good and if they get your order wrong, I wouldnt go again.

My husband and I are new to the area and decided to try The Cottage out for coffee and breakfast. I am glad we did!! The ham & cheese quiche and almond croissant were delicious. We had a great experience with the individual working and the shop area is super cute. All in all, I can say that we will be back to try out some of the other pastries.

I was here a while ago, and I remember it feeling fun and upbeat. I went back and was shocked at how bad it is now. AMBIANCE: Not sure if it's a new owner, but the tables and chairs were so dirty and dusty that I had to clean off a space just to sit and rest my arms (and of course I had white pants on, of all days!) There were a bajillion flies swarming over our heads- they didn't bother us, but they weren't pleasant to look at. Then- the FOOD- After much consideration, we ordered 2 salads (grandma's sink) only to be told there was no salad (an entire section of the menu!) Second choice- Palestinian shakshuka- NOPE- Didn't have that either. Third reluctant pick: California Love (eggs, avocado, tomato and cucumber). I guess I should've taken that literally because it was 2 fried eggs w/some unripe cucumber pieces, overly ripe tomatoes, green "avocado" paste from a tube? served on a bed of dry, wilted, bruised, and past it's prime lettuce. No dressing, no seasoning, not even a salt shaker on the table. It was laughable (we literally were laughing!) because it looked so awful AND it was flavorless AND it cost me $13. All I managed to consume were the fried eggs simply for the honor of the poor chickens who worked hard to lay them- LOL- SERVICE: No one ever came to check on us. We left, hungry and $30 poorer, to eat somewhere else. Will never go back there again. Very sad because we'd like to support the community, but this place was just gross.

Visited this cute hidden gem last weekend with friends for brunch and was pleasantly surprised! We had arrived half an hour before their closing and had ordered quite a few dishes. The host was very gracious and let us know what was available at that time (unfortunately, the riccotta toast was not, which I was very keen to try) however we did manage to get a good spread of things including sweet items such as the Nutella French toast and Danish pastry, and some savory items such as the spinach tomato quiche, turkey sandwich, sundried tomatoe Avocado toast. Everything was delicious, and the beverages were served piping hot, which is a must in the morning. Our table was on the patio, which was tasty decorated and had live music. Would def visit again to try the rest of their items!

The food was SO delicious. However, I took one star away because it was freezing and my friend and I had to sit outside and the tables were a bit dirty. It take a while for the food to come out, but it was so worth it. I would love to come again, but this time I will take it to go.
