I was so excited to visit Ukrainian Hata, their insta looks so good. I drove about 40 min one way to make over $50 worth purchase of mostly pastries. When I got home and unpacked all items, I realized that four different baked goods were hard, which for me indicates they are not fresh. I was raised having Russian and Ukrainian food, worked several years at deli and I know what is fresh and what is not. 2 buns with cinnamon, 3 waffles with boiled condensed milk, 1 vatrushka, 1 cabbage bulka and 1 cherry bulka- all of these were old and partially dry( hard). I immediately msg them on insta attaching pics and receipt, after few days I also commented on one of their post but I had no other sullution but leave a bad review since they had never responded to me.
I live in Manhattan and don’t have the option to go back and forth to make an exchange or physically show them the quality of the product they sold me.
P.S I also bought vareniki with potato, borscht and poppy seeds bulka. Bulka was really fresh and tasty, borscht was ok( everyone cook it differently so no complaints), haven’t tried vareniki.

This place is inside the Hudson Green Market. It's a counter-serve place, you take everything to go. They have delicious Varenyky (dumplings) and the price is reasonable. Great for lunch or for grabbing dinner at the last minute.

Ordered delivery and despite a long Uber in the cold, everything was still warm and delicious, they packed each dish with care. Varenyky and Napoleon were my favorites. It's the best Napoleon I've had in a while.
I really enjoyed the Olivier salad and Borscht, the only critique I have is that the mashed potatoes need to be creamy and tasty, they are a bit lumpy and bland. Overall I enjoyed it and I would eat here again, and thanks for the cookie!

Terrible food. We ordered Olivier - it was as if all the pieces of different sizes had been chopped with a saber, cabbage rolls - no salt, practically only rice, it was unclear what kind of meat (after the cabbage rolls there was an upset stomach), diluted compote - the water was slightly colored with berries, zero taste. The only thing that was more or less Napoleon did not cause much delight, it was clearly too much vanilla.
Chicken Kyiv was okay but mashed potatoes were disappointing and plain and seemed like they were made without milk and butter or sour cream.
Wafer cake was very good.
The market has some Ukrainian groceries which is great.

I had placed an order via Uber Eats, I ordered the Potato Dumplings and the Cheese Dumplings with the tomato red pepper sauce. Beautifully packaged and exceptional to taste as well. I could make out it was freshly prepared and prepared with love. Keep up the good work team and keep up let the quality and taste.

It it a very good food. It is not a cafe, it is a department inside the grocery store. There is no option to eat inside, only to go. But just in 2 minutes walk you can eat very tasty food and watch beautiful views of Manhattan. They have plenty sitting places around. It is very convenient. And you can always support this small business visiting this this grocery store.

The Napolean cake and beef short rib varenyky were absolutely delicious! The service was also fantastic. Maryana was so helpful and patient, providing us with great recommendations. Definitely coming back!
