I can't believe it is taking me this long to review this place as it's been one of my favorites for years .

From a wonderfully curated menu of brat, kielbasa, premium hot dogs, poutine and expansive Hard Cider Menu. There's something for everyone there.

The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable. It feels like a mixture of a farmhouse kitchen mixed in with a rural cider mill and butcher shop type vibes. ( I mean this in a good way)

Decent amount of space and clean bathrooms. The staff have always been friendly and knowledgeable of what they serve and have always been accommodating.

Also, check out their generous food and drink specials which they have frequently. There's no parking.

It is street parking only so I would recommend either taking public transit or being okay with finding parking a block or two away.

But I've been going here for years and it's my number one go-to comfort meal spot in JC. ❤️🌭🍺

Being from Germany we found the best „wurst“ by far.
Go for the Wurstplater and they also have awesome happy hours!

Great vibes. Our table of 6 was seated immediately on NYE! I didn't love the cheese curds but the poutine bowls were delicious. Really tasty cocktails!

They’ve gone downhill over the past few years. Hot dogs take at least 30 min to come out & parts still end up cold somehow. They also add a credit card surcharge & added fees to tips so check your statement carefully. An $8 tip for me turned into $10 & the servers don’t provide receipts. Sad to see what this place has become after their revamp.

I visited this bar on Friday night, October 10, and was really disappointed with the service this time. I usually enjoy coming here, but the bartender we had last night was quite rude. My friend was on the phone briefly saying goodnight to her son, and he interrupted her mid-conversation, saying, “Sorry to interrupt, but are you ready to order?” which came off as dismissive.

We asked for a popular mezcal to use for a margarita, and he recommended one — but never mentioned that it was $34 per drink. When we saw the bill, we were shocked. When we questioned it, the bartender said, “I said it was a little pricey.” That’s not the same as explaining that you’re charging the equivalent of a Macallan 18 neat. That’s not just an upcharge from house to premium liquor — that’s a major price difference that should’ve been made clear.

To make it worse, a margarita typically has about 1.5 oz of liquor, while a neat pour is usually 2 oz — meaning we paid that price and actually got less liquor in the drink.

Throughout the night, he kept asking if we wanted another round before we’d even finished our drinks, which made it feel like he was more interested in us spending money than actually enjoying our time there. While he eventually apologized, the overall experience just left a bad taste.

I’ve been to this bar several times and always had great service before, but this bartender made the night feel uncomfortable and transactional — not like the welcoming place it’s been in the past.

Possibly the best spot for a casual dinner and drinks in Downtown JC. The food is always delicious, they've got an expansive draft list, there's plenty of outdoor seating, the service is friendly and attentive, and their prices are a bargain for the neighborhood. It's definitely a local treasure.

Another great German bar down in Jersey City Hoboken area. My nephew and his wife picked this place out since they live in Jersey City and what a great place to meet up beginning your evening or ending your evening. The bartender and wait staff were on point and very friendly with a great atmosphere. The selections of beers and cocktails were many and very tasty! I very much enjoyed the kiwi sour coconut beer weirdly enough, and had many of them. From salads to broths everything was excellent Thank you so much for lowly experience and will be back!!
