I have been dining and attending events ever since they opened. I always leave happy. Feeling welcome is something I ALWAYS feel too, which is important as a transgender woman because I have dealt with discrimination and harassment elsewhere. I only patronize welcoming places. My wife is also a transgender woman who feels the same ever since I introduced her to the friendly and welcoming staff. Unfortunately she had a very bad life experience recently at a different place, so projected her hurt and anger with a bad review. I was with her so I verify the response from management. I highly recommend Halfmoon for cocktails, dining, events and the view of NYC.

Terrible experience. Sat at the bar to eat. Waited like 20 minutes as the only person without a cocktail. Somehow the bartender couldn't see this, but COULD see her favorite customer come in the door from across the entire restaurant, and get his seat ready for him before he even got there, then serve him while still ignoring me. For a $25 hamburger and $15 drinks, I expect impeccable service. Told owner about this. She did not care, and even defended the incompetent employee. Don't go here, especially if you are trans, as you will get sidelined. I will not be going back even though I have a $100 gift card.

A must-visit! From the moment I walked in, every single person — from the owner to the staff — was kind, welcoming, and so helpful. I went during a super busy event, but you’d never know it by the way they treated everyone with such care and attention. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, and full of flavor, even with the rush. You can tell they really take pride in what they do. I’ll definitely be coming back — this place truly deserves all the love and recognition!
