Breaking News: Birthday Bash at Ava’s Kitchen & Bar Takes a Bizarre Turn!
In a development that has left diners both baffled and amused, a celebration for Anna’s birthday at Ava’s Kitchen in Kenilworth was abruptly disrupted by a glitch in the restaurant’s Toast system. Reports confirm that the digital device—acting on its own mysterious logic—claimed the bill was underpaid, with not a scrap of proof to be found.
Eyewitnesses describe the incident as nothing short of a modern-day farce, as the malfunction held the entire party “hostage” on what was supposed to be a night of jubilation. Some sources suggest that the situation might have been saved if the establishment had offered a hearty cup of coffee or, dare we say, an espresso machine to warm the mood.
Stay tuned as we follow this culinary caper and await statements from the management regarding this curious case of erroneous billing on what should have been a delightful birthday celebration.
Really disappointed in the lack of ownership of the issue and ruining an evening. Take ownership of your P.O.S even if it is literally a P.O.S.

Good relaxing place clean and nicely decorated. Friendly staff nice menu and drinks. The negative is its pricey, almost nyc levels. Go once and a while sure but as your local..unless you got deep pockets, no

Tried contacting twice on their website about booking a special event and no one ever got back to me. I booked my event elsewhere and now don't really care to go back even though the food is good I feel like they blew me off.
Smelled like Bourbon Street after mardi gras. Food was asscheeks

One of the best in the area when it comes to cuisine, craft cocktails, and a good beer and wine selection. Typically sit at the bar and the bartenders and staff are excellent.

You cannot get french fries by themselves. A dirty look, no we can't and they turn away to avoid conversation. You can't get olive oil because it apparently does not exist in the place.... and they walk away.

I don’t know why this place has such high reviews. I was really excited to try this place but unfortunately I left disappointed. The inside is nice and had a good ambiance. However I don’t know if this is how the place usually smells but it smelled like dirty bathroom in there when you first walk in specially in the main bar area and the smell kinda fades but still had a stale smell in the second section of the restaurant. Ordered the calamari and while it was good and had decent flavor, it was literally more fried zucchini more than calamari. I’ve never gone to a place where the side dressing is more than the main dish. Which for the price, it should have been mainly calamari. We ordered the white pie and the crust was severely burnt that you can’t even eat it. I’ve gone to other places before with the same pizza style and they don’t burn their crust. I think this place needs to rethink how they do their pizza because looking from other reviews, they burn the crust often. Also it was bland and literally tasted like nothing, even the cheese had no ounce of flavor whatsoever. Maybe their other items is better but if you decide to want to risk your time coming here, do not get the pizza or don’t be expecting a respectable serving of calamari.
Our server was nice but she spoke so low and had no energy, probably because the place smells like sewer in there and they know the food their serving is not good.

I'm glad I live very far from this restaurant because I'd be here everyday!

One of my favorite restaurants in the area. The pizza is delicious, as well as their appetizers. Great selection of craft beer and cocktails as well. Always worth the trip.

This place has redefined what I expect from a pizza joint. The crust, toppings, everything was on point. Plus their bourbon selection kept the evening interesting. The vibe here is just right for any occasion.

We have been there multiple times and it never disappoints. The consistency in food and service quality keeps bringing me back. The ambiance is a perfect balance between lively and intimate.

Visited for the drinks and was not disappointed. The cocktails are crafted with care, and the food compliments them perfectly. The atmosphere is chill, making it ideal for unwinding after work.

This place is awful! Pizza crust was burned and the drink asked for was shamed for ordering it. Bartender is extremely rude and arrogant!!! He's the worst. I'll never go back. Beyond expensive and I heard the bartend first hand say "up charge" other tables. Never again!!!!
