Best place ever.Not only is the coffee exquisite (even for a black coffee drinker), everything we’ve tried is a 10/10. Chat and Griddle even catered our son’s birthday party last fall. Everyone was raving about the food for weeks.We love the atmosphere and truly appreciate that the owner hires high school students and lets them be themselves in a relaxed fit.The sandwiches are wrapped perfectly in quality paper, and easy clean up with disposable plates and appreciate the eco-friendly paper towels.Chat and Griddle has character, my son even loves the bouncy floor! The owner is so kind and humble. He truly cares about his community and puts so much effort into this place.Perfect spot for Kenilworth.Sandwich pictured is the Roasted Turkey BLT. Divine.

Do not recommend. The waiters are high schoolers in sweats. Plastic plates, plastic utensils, no napkins...just a roll of cheap paper that doesn't even tear evenly. The floor jumps up and down as people walk by, it's like eating while on a trampoline. Cheap, cheap, cheap! Very underwhelmed for a place in Kenilworth, NJ. The toast was not fresh/warm or buttered properly. Coffee sucks. Just NO! On the positive side home potatoes were good and the omelet was good. Not my vibe. Don't plan on returning.

Found this place by searching “best breakfast union county” and it did not disappoint. Brought my wife and daughter for breakfast. Immediately treated by staff when we came in the front door. Great atmosphere and great tunes. I had a bacon egg and cheese. It was one of the best I’ve ever had. My daughter had a kids chocolate chip pancakes with fruit on the side. Huge bowl of fruit for a side and a really big pancake! My wife had a coffee that she said was perfect and pancakes with fruit. All breakfast spots should envy the size and taste of the pancakes!Cannot wait to come back and try the lunch menu. Tons of options!

Substantive portions, reasonable prices and friendly service in a clean, updated luncheonette setting make Chat & Griddle an exceptional local gem. Tucked away in and Kenilworth neighborhood, just off of the Boulevard, don't miss their sizable, delicious breakfast and lunch sandwiches and platters. Service is attentive and informative. You can tell they love this place.

I never thought I'd think a sandwich was too big. But this place they're huge. I got a meatball sandwich 2.0. it was huge. I only was able to eat half and I took half home with me. My friend Steve who I haven't seen in 40 years turned me on to this place. At some point I'll go back but if you live in that area of Kenilworth you already know about it. And if you don't, it's a quick stop off the parkway get after itParking: Tight little spots. I'm sure it's difficult during busy times

I stumbled upon this place just looking for somewhere new to try breakfast around the area. Boy am I happy I did. I’ve been coming here very frequently, because the food here is made with love and it always as fresh as it can be.. The owner is super down to earth and makes you feel welcomed. I highly recommend this place to ANYBODY!!!!
I have back issues and it is very hard to climb stairs. Our table was upstairs and I had to climb very steep stairs otherwise it was an hour wait. Waitress was great. Meatballs were like sawdust. The kicker was the ladies room upstairs was disgusting, with a mouse trap right by the side of the door. Wanted to throw up. Would not recommend going there
