Placed a pick-up order at Star of India and everything was a letdown. The food was cold, the naan were thick and chewy, and they even managed to mess up the simplest dish on the menu—dal makhani. It was bland, pasty, and nothing like it should be. For the price, this is unacceptable. Really disappointing experience. Never coming back.

Ordered pickup takeout. Food was super hot and fresh. Very good prices helped very good Food get an extra star. Outside appearance has zero curb appeal. Inside decor was acceptable but nothing impressive. For the food selection and quality including the price I would recommend them for a good meal.

I have eaten at many Indian restraunts before -- and while the food was prepared quickly and served -- the taste was far from quality.
The garlic naan was paper thin.
The vegetable korma tasted burnt... they used frozen vegetables, which is fine, but GOOD korma comes with big chunks of vegetables.
The chicken 65 was tossed in a sweet sauce, which I've never expirenced before.
Their chutney were solid.
The restaraunt was incredibly dark, which is nice, but overall I dont prefer to dine in the dark lol.
Overall, it was an incredibly disappointing dining experience. I would not go out of my way to go here. -- there's a lot better Indian food in Edison and Harrison that is light and clean.

I’ve been going here for 10+ years. I always order the Lamb Roganjosh, whether it’s takeout or dine-in. The food is delicious and it’s one of my favorite places but today I picked up my food and there were whole Cashews in the Lamb Roganjosh. I’m allergic to Cashews, but when we called they insisted that there’s always Cashews in it despite me ordering the dish dozens or more times before. No conversation to resolve the issue and it leaves me disappointed that I wasted my money. Possibly new staff/management because it’s been around for a very long time.

I recently visited this restaurant for dinner, and the atmosphere was perfect for a relaxing meal. I would highly recommend dining in rather than ordering takeout, as the experience is much more enjoyable in person. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and there was always someone available to assist without having to search for help. The food was fantastic, especially the vegetable korma with garlic, which was the highlight of the meal. The mutton rogan josh was juicy and cooked to perfection, and the rice was full of flavor. They offered a wide variety of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, catering to all preferences. For dessert, I enjoyed the mango lassi, though they also had ice cream and gulab jamun available.
By the end of the meal, I had the chance to chat with the owner, who was an incredibly kind and approachable person. He mentioned that the restaurant is available for booking events like kitty parties and birthday celebrations, which adds a nice personal touch to the dining experience.
Vegetarian options: They have paneer, pakora, vegi samosa and many more.
