I've only had take out so can't rate service or atmosphere. The food is great. My favorite Mexican restaurant in the area.

Food was undeniably the best Mexican food I ever had. The restaurant itself needs some updating. Prices were reasonable and the portions were generous.

Average food and a dingy dirty dining room. Filthy cloth table cloths on every table, with wrinkled white paper on each table. It’s a Saturday night and we didn’t have a reservation for one of the known restaurants in town, so we took a chance. The Irish bar adjacent to the dining room was blaring their music and it was a complete mismatch.I love finding a good local hole in the wall restaurant, but this place does not deserve a repeat visit.

Upon visiting this charming Mexican restaurant, I was absolutely delighted by their signature dish, the Molcajete Mixto. This dish isn't just a meal; it's an experience that speaks to the heart of Mexican culinary traditions. For starters, if you're in pursuit of authentic Mexican cuisine, the Molcajete Mixto is a top choice. It's a symphony of flavors, featuring a variety of meats and vegetables, all cooked and served in a traditional stone molcajete. The dish's rich and earthy flavors, infused with traditional spices and herbs, transport you straight to the heart of Mexico.Secondly, the Molcajete Mixto shines as a communal dining option. It's perfect for groups, offering a shared experience that's both engaging and delicious. The variety of ingredients ensures that there's something for everyone, making it a unanimous favorite among diverse taste preferences.Lastly, for those who appreciate variety and hearty portions, this dish doesn't disappoint. The Molcajete Mixto offers a bountiful assortment of tastes and textures, making every bite exciting. And the generous portion size ensures that even the hungriest of diners will leave satisfied.Basically, the Molcajete Mixto at this Mexican restaurant is a must-try. Whether you're seeking authenticity, a meal to share with friends, or just a hearty and varied dish, this is the perfect choice. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting the restaurant.

Response to the owner - A response like this from the owner speaks volumes about the type of place that this isSMELLS LIKE WEED INSIDEUnacceptable and inappropriate for a family with children to come into an establishment that smells of cannabis, irrespective if NJ allows recreational use.Food was just okay. The Pollo con mole poblano - the chicken was dry and the mole itself was quite bitter. The salsa verde sauce that accompanied the enchiladas with unpleasantly sour. The rice had a lot of hard, overcooked bits and the beans had a sour taste that was also off putting.Atmosphere - dark and dingyThe weed smell issue has been noted in other reviews so, it's for real. I'd like to think that other fellow patrons that gave great reviews just had a better experience so hoping, for the restaurant sake, that the food itself was an outlier. Everything else could use a significant amount of improvement.

Excellent Mexican food. I've made several visits and explored the menu thoroughly and can't speak highly enough about the quality and deliciousness of the food. The Chorizo dip appetizer will change your life. Easily one of the best restaurants in the region!
