First time back since the old Deanna's. Poor job on the reno/new seating set up/ bar. Unless you reserve or get lucky with a specific few tables, the rest aren't properly spaced. Need to lose about 4 tables but even then it's a terrible ambience. Service was unorganized but when we finally got assigned a server she as fantastic. Highlight of the meal (Nicky). Food was good but had higher expectations. Will go back to try a few other dishes and keep an open mind. (But will make sure to request a corner table!)

Second time diner at T54. Did not measure up to first 5 star visit. Suspect this is an early reservation spot (we had a 7:45...prior was 6) as many of the specials were unavailable as were regular menu items that need to be fresh...oysters etc. The server was clearly new and getting to know the system but really was not ready to serve a table without closer supervision. Food delivery was very uneven...apps came out almost too fast and then a long wait for the main course...over 40 minutes. Not enough attention paid to water, drinks, or check delivery. Restaurant was much less than half full so it was puzzling. Food was all well prepared and seasoned although may have spent some time under a warming light as the fish was evenly hot and a bit dry...not like it was just taken out of the broiler. Still, would return again as it was a holiday weekend and that might have been some of the reason for the uneven experience.

Taverna 54 has a lot going for it in terms of atmosphere and service—the ambiance is warm and stylish, and the staff is friendly and attentive throughout the meal. It’s a place that feels special and welcoming, great for a night out with friends or a date.
We started strong with the appetizers—the meatballs and burrata were excellent. Flavorful, well-prepared, and a great way to kick off the meal.
Unfortunately, things took a nosedive when we got to the main course. My friend ordered the lasagna, and his verdict was harsh but honest: it reminded him of high school cafeteria food. I ordered the New York strip steak, and I can only describe it as awful—tough, flavorless, and poorly presented (photo attached if you’re reading this somewhere that allows images).
Thankfully, dessert helped redeem the experience. Everything we tried was delicious, beautifully done, and left a great final impression.
Bottom line: Taverna 54 is worth visiting for its appetizers, drinks, and desserts. Skip the mains. With such a beautiful setting and solid service, it’s a shame the entrees don’t live up to the rest of the experience.

What a wonderful vibe! The restaurant is adorable, great outdoor space and cute interior design. Our server was pleasant and attentive.(sorry we didn’t get her name) The lobster salad appetizer was INCREDIBLE, the mouth-watering spareribs are not to be missed! As we are “borderline” food snobs, we take eating seriously, and the entrees did not disappoint. All were seasoned and perfectly cooked as requested. There is a fairly extensive dessert menu considering everything is made in house. The tiramisu was probably the best we ever had. The bobolini and olive oil cake were also very satisfying. Antionette, who owns the restaurant with her chef / husband, stops by each table to pleasantly chat and make sure everyone is satisfied. It adds a nice, personal touch to a delightful dining experience!

Nothing was bad, but nothing was really great either. It was thoroughly mediocre in every way. I was expecting a more refined experience and more creative food, given the price point. Our server was friendly and she tried hard, but she would benefit from some more training. Overall, it was fine, but I left wishing I would have tried somewhere else for my one night in Lambertville.

The food & drinks were exceptional. My wife and I had the smoked Old-fashioned as a cocktail and grilled octopus as an appetizer. The Old-fashioned was a great take and one of my favorites of any restaurant/bar I have visited. The octopus was done perfectly and we thoroughly enjoyed the start of the evening. After that service got a bit slow. They were understaffed on the floor and in the kitchen for the night. The wait staff did their best trying to keep up with everything. The food took a long time to come out but when it finally did it was done properly. I had the T54 Burger and my wife had the spaghetti carbonara and they were both very good. Regarding the wait time, I would rate them 3 stars for service, but they made up for it by keeping their heads in a tough situation and the exceptional quality of the food/drinks when they finally did show up indicating that they did not cut corners just because they were busy and understaffed earning them a 4-star service rating for the night. We would still gladly eat there again.

I thoroughly enjoyed my meal at T54. The food was mostly excellent, the staff very friendly, and they had a great large bar. They have happy hour during the week from 5-7, which is fantastic.
I would highly recommend the slider, steak tartare, and the pasta on the wheel. All delicious and done to perfection. The fish croquettes were the only disappointment.
Looking forward to going back and trying more of their menu items!
