I went for a cup of coffee and there was a line down the block. my friends and I said oh boy...let's go someplace else. Waiting on an endless line, I was suprised by the minstrels of a smokey voice singer and an equally talented guitar player. They were wonderful and made the wait so pleasant. People were mouthing the words to popular jazz classics, tapping their toes and one guy was fox trotting with his dog. How nice is this for a Sunday morning? The idea of having entertainment...

When I stayed in Lavalette for a while I came here every morning for bagels. Everybody was nice to me from the ownership and staff. The bagels were very good fresh every day. I appreciated being able to walk here between 7-2 for food. Thanks for serving me, Lava Java!

This place is great for breakfast, but is a bit pricey. With that said, the staff is very friendly, the coffee is fresh, and the bagels are delicious! Great spot to stop by for a quick bite to eat.
