“Was here in on a mini vacation and was recommended to this place . As I woman that works in the food industry this pace was really good !!! They were busy but got our food out in a good quality time . Garlic shrimp was amazing !!! Dave the sauce for dipping your bread and even adding your rice for a nice twist !!! Will def come back ! Staff was friendly . And it’s a byob which makes it great as I’m on a budget with travel . Thank you guys !!!“

“Excellent place with affordable food! We come from New York City for these great deals and delicious meals when we’re in NJ. The wait time might be a bit, but you’re guaranteed a fresh meal. The chicken meal with the rice and fries is always tasty, not too much salt, just enough for those with specific health needs. There’s a good portion size and great sauces that they give. Your meal will literally be steaming hot, it can be packed or slow and you’d have the freshest meal. Worth the wait and travel, for less than $20 you can’t go wrong if you have a family to feed for dinner or you want a simple meal for a lunch.

Very appreciative of the server Natalie who always makes the visit a good one. Since we come from so far, quality matters, but Natalie makes every visit worth it. She’s extremely fast, and very kind! It can be super late, slow, or busy and she’s always working hard and serving everyone’s needs. She’s my go to girl at the restaurant, you can’t ask for a better server. I highly recommend going to her for all your needs at the store. She’s very knowledgeable and accommodating, never hesitates to go the extra mile. She’s the biggest reason we have the meal a try, and we haven’t stopped going back since! They’re worth the tolls we have to pay. Always happy to support them!

“We went to House 157 for dinner on a Sunday evening. We were seated very quickly, within 1 minute after arriving on time for our reservation. “I am gushing over the meal we had here. From amazing craft cocktails to an unforgettable dinner. Raphael, Julia, and Louis spoiled us. The cocktails were in fun glasses and were light and flavorful. The service was impeccable. We let them order for us. Octopus starter, then onto hanger steak, roasted chicken, sea bass, and the pork stew. All incredible with deep rich flavors. We had some great sides, a light salad to finish, and a lovely passion fruit desert. I can't say enough about this place.“

“I’ve eaten here two times. The ladies behind the bar are extremely friendly and attentive. The meals are tasty with generous portions. I’m not a huge fan of French fries, but these are so good and taste homemade! The salad was delicious and the garlic pork chops were excellent. My friend had grilled salmon and enjoyed it. The prices are affordable and they even have a $4 glass of house wine that they fill to the rim; you can’t beat it! My only complaint is that it is extremely warm in there. Other than that, I highly recommend.“

“We went to the Chateau 7/13 for our Granddaughter's birthday. I had mentioned it was her birthday. We had a delicious dinner with sangria. After dinner one of the waiters along with a waitress came over with a Birthday dessert w/candle and even sang Happy Birthday. After we finished the waiter Paulo came back with a glass of Port Wine to finish off the meal. He was very personable.“

“Best BBq for your buck, seasoning is on point. Only only bad thing is if your dining in, since there is no ac you will be very uncomfortable and sweat while you eat which no one wants. Foods amazing, staff is great, just too hot to dine in the summer. In the spring, fall, and winter it's chill just don't recommend eating there in the summer. Please go thought and get take out.

Parking: There's only a few, about 4 spots to park around the restaurant, if those are taken which usually are you must park blocks down the road.“

“We had the pleasure of dining at this Portuguese restaurant for the first time, and it was such a delightful experience! The food was incredibly flavorful and felt so authentic—every dish was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The portions were very generous, with each dish easily enough for two people to share. I particularly loved the tender meats and perfectly seasoned gravy. The lovely lady who served us made the experience even better with her warm service. As it was our first time trying Portuguese cuisine, we were thoroughly impressed. We’ll definitely be coming back for another visit!“

“Ate here with a group of co-workers (total of 8 people) after work on a Tuesday evening. It had a casual atmosphere. The food was excellent starting from the appetizers all the way down to the dessert! The calamari and the shrimp during the appetizer was on point. The sauce on the shrimp was great dipping for the bread. For the Entree the seafood pasta was fresh and a generous serving portion for 5-6 people alone in 1 serving. We also had the picadinho, which was my favorite- excellent... not too greasy! And had a good portion of salad with steak. Then we each had a serving of different desserts that we shared- flan, chocolate mousse, tiramisu, cheesecake, and some pudding.“

“My wife and I ate at Ford's in late December 2024. Boy are we glad we did! After seeing the reviews here and elsewhere, it was very clear we had to come here while we were in the area, and now we know why! We had never experienced Portuguese BBQ before, and holy moley, was it delicious!\n\nI had a lunch-sized chicken and pork ribs combo, and my wife had the lunch-sized chicken and beef ribs combo. All of the meat was absolutely sensational, well cooked, seasoned well, and just melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The BBQ sauce that came with it was also tasty, but honestly we felt like we didn't even need it because the meat was so tender and juicy.\n\nThe fries and yellow rice were also very tasty.\n\nAnd even when you get the lunch-sized portions, you get TONS of food, like we both got more than enough for both lunch and dinner.\n\nThe gentleman behind the counter was very friendly and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed to enjoy the meal.\n\nI'm not sure when or if we'll be back in the Fords/Woodbridge area, but if we are, we will definitely put this on our "must do" list every time.“

Would drive for miles to go there. And usually my first stop when arriving to Newark Airport. I suggest you call in your order ahead to avoid wait time. Limited self service seating, so takeout is preferable.“

“This is my first time eating Portuguese food and I must say that I had a very good experience with them. The flounder with the spanish rice and sauteed veggies were on point! I also had the chourito and camarno which is sausage and shrimp in a garlicky hot sauce which was divine! the espresso was a nice finish to the meal. I highly recommend trying it out. André our server was very nice and attentive and the chef and everyone cooked the food to perfection. Give Algarve a try!“

“I met a couple of my old coworkers there December 20th after 4 years. I wanted to go to a highly rated family-run place and this establishment didn't disappoint. The burgers, meatloaf and pita wraps were excellent. The owner Vinnie greeted us and seated us, then came by to chat with us. The server was attentive and seemed to like her job. About a 15 - 20 minute walk from the Harrison PATH station. I will be making future visits there with old collegues.“
