When I visited Mainline Pizzeria, this vintage Jersey diner with a pizzeria like atmosphere truly amazed me. Small booths, strong overhead lighting, and the kitchen in plain sight all contribute to the traditional, uncomplicated appeal that greets you as soon as you walk in. Our huge pie, which was half cheese and half mushroom, was hot and still had steam rising from the cheese. The mushrooms were fresh, the sauce was delicious, and the crust was crunchy. Randomly in the area and stopped in for a slice… on a random weekday at like 3oclock in the afternoon these guys are slinging 5* , 10 out of 10 slices! So glad I stopped in here definitely going to return for a pie. The pizza was thin and the crisp? Just PERFECT. Also the owner and staff are such nice folks and deserve all the success in the world. These people put in love and effort into their food and it tastes and shows!
It's a funny story now, but not when I tried this pizzeria because I was in a car accident in front of it. I was going to make a left onto Van Ness Ave, and a guy rear-ended me. My husband and two friends who came to help me suggested we eat pizza to calm down before I started driving again. The pizza was delicious! We ordered a pepperoni pie, which was good. I assume the pizza was good because people kept coming in and out to pick up, and it was a Tuesday.
