Celebrated my daughter's birthday here and it was a truly wonderful experience, food - entrees, appetizers, were astoundingly good, but the service was top-notch professional- staff was kind and courteous but super responsive all at the same time - they not only allowed us to bring a cake to celebrate but served it with a lit candle and joined in on the festivities. We always have a great time here.

Fantastic food and service.
Had some of the freshest and tastiest sashimi at this restaurant. Staff was incredibly friendly and generous. Stands out as a truly remarkable dining experience.

I feel the need to leave this review because they are not what they lead you to believe. Nothing lives up to the photos online. They purport to be a cuisine of the highest quality with “no compromise”. However, the food was mediocre at best. The miso soup was cloudy, the specialty sushi was unremarkable. The bowls and fried rice were ok. The server who was probably also the manager was being accused by the person at the next table of serving his bowl in a hot stone bowl even though he didn’t agree to the upcharge. When I ordered the same thing the server also tried to cleverly word the confirmation of my order to where I had to again state that I did not want the hot stone bowl. I wasn’t served in the hot stone bowl but was charged for it anyway. I remembered the price on the menu and saw it was the same on the receipt. The table cloths were old enough that the stains were set in. The table cloths were not even pressed, it just seemed lazy. The hot tea was served in mugs that were chipped and stained. All the food was brought out almost simultaneously which was odd. Near the end of our dinner the kitchen was full of young girls giggling and giggling loudly behind an open door for what seemed like 20 minutes. Very odd and annoying didn’t seem too care that we were there. Overall not worth the money, over $100 for two people. There are 50 places I would rather go in the area that I believe are well worth that, but not here no matter what they say. Will never be back.

Hands down our favorite sushi spot. The Smokey flavors in the French Kiss Roll and Tuna Belly in Valentine roll is bar none our favorite.
All meals come with miso and salad unlike other places you have to order. Also, the home made sesame dressing, you have to try it.
The service is also very good with Kevin our waiter being very attentive and sending us some complimentary sashimi. Presentation of menus and food are also above what you’d expect from the average priced sushi in the area.
If you haven’t been here, you need to try and and get your sushi cravings satisfied and some!

Friendly service, food was ok. The tables around us got a “chef special”, when we asked about it the waitress said “you didn’t order enough”. Ok… I agree that restaurant has the right to reward its customers that spend a lot. As a customer, I want to be treated equally, without worrying about how much I order. I also have the right to simply not come back. What made it curious is that if they were packed at least I can understand it from a business perspective. But it was us and 3 other tables. The place was mostly empty. I will not be going back.

*Do not come for takeout*
I unfortunately have to give this spot a bad review -- I got a takeout order and the quality was absolutely awful. It took about an hour and a half for them to even finish my order (the chirashi), and even then the rice tasted super dry, about a day old.
For the high price you pay at Ilpoom ($30-50), you might as well go to NYC. Hell, literally ANY other Asian restaurant in the area. Not worth the price, not coming here again.

This was by far one of the most incredible dining experiences I’ve had in years. The food was top of the line quality and outstanding! I was simply blown away. Kevin provided the most accommodating experience, bringing out complimentary foods to try and actively helping with decisions about what to order. I absolutely cannot wait to go back and try more! What an absolute gem and gift to our area. I highly recommend to all!

Had a wonderful lunch at Ilpoom. The galbi was outstanding — tender, juicy, and full of flavor. It came with perfectly grilled veggies and classic Korean sides like kimchi and pickled radish.
We also enjoyed a fresh, beautifully presented sushi and sashimi platter. The fish was fresh and high-quality, and each piece was a treat.
Great service and a relaxed atmosphere made the meal even better. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

This place never disappoints! The sashimi is always super fresh, and the service is excellent. They even gave us complimentary hand rolls and fruit. The best sushi spot in my neighborhood!!
