This place sure knows how to satisfy their customers. Constantly with a helpful attitude. The food is conveniently priced, constantly flavorful and clean.
This place is struggling from COVID . With all Bussiness in area not at work. One of greatest delli out side NYC will close. Please people enjoy there food . I was there today I don’t work in area anymore. Nor do I live here . It would be a shame to loose this gem.
The meats are cooked appropriately and the meats are very lean.
Its not the same as I remember from years back must find a new deli in Livingston
i haven't been to Irving's deli in several years. Since I retired early 2008. For the past few months during this pandemic, my neighbors in my Hi-Rise were asking if i knew where to find a good NY style Jewish Deli. I told them about Irving's. How great their lunches are, specifically. So a few ordered and we went to pick up the order. i was so embarrassed to see how run down, and filthy it is, and that's from looking in from outside upon our arrival. it was NEVER like that when I ate there when I was working. And the food? I literally offered to pay for my 3 friends lunches. Greasy, or overcooked each sandwich was. they tasted terrible. I was told by another friend that we would have lunch together there, back in the day, she told me, "Oh no, you didn't know? The place was sold a few years ago. NOBODY goes there anymore. I'm sorry you didn't know".
Everyone has their “ go to place” , but not mine. Basically not clean enough for me. Food may be adequate, but always feels not clean. Still popular and does not deter customers from fining. Just a heads up. Sandwiches are very large.
Mediocre at best place is clean service was OK asked for well done fries with my pastrami sandwich they came barely cooked prastrami was just OK but not worth 17.
Good morning. I'm sorry. Good afternoon. From Leicester Smitty Smith once again letting people know that hers Deli. Have some grape jelly sandwiches, which are hard to find now only certain places. Have the great ones and this is one of the great ones how you know, a lot of places say that they have them. Regular deli sandwiches roast beef corned beef Exedra, but does it really? Stand up to a 3 star restaurant. Price for the meal has always say I don't mind paying a little more on long as it's good and it's good stop by and get yourself a good combination sandwich. Corned beef my pastrami on rye with mustard and coleslaw that I like. Once again⭐⭐⭐ stars for herbs Deli signing off Lester "Smitty" Smith Have a great evening.
Love the new Yorker sandwich. So good.
Great pickles and large delicious sandwiches, especially pastrami and brisket. If you are looking for an old school NYC style Deli, ( not kosher), experience this is for you. Large menu, eat in or take out.

This place at one point might have been good. The Ruben I had was overpriced and greasy. The place as a whole is not a kosher deli. The pickles they served were not fresh, the sandwich overpriced, stay away from Irving’s
Much more impressed a few years back. Food is good. Just nothing to rave about.
First time we’ve been back since having a small banquet here after a wedding. The lentil soup and split pea soups were both excellent and we ate the pickles and coleslaw on the table before the meal even arrived. The hot pastrami was as good as we remembered it and my wife gave her Irving’s Signature Salad a “pretty good.” We closed the meal out with some delicious rugelach. Enjoyed the service and our waitress’ colorful hair. Looking forward to our next visit.
Always tasty and great NYC style deli food of all types. One of the best around since they opened.
Dirty menus with food stains that looked like they had been there a while. Also saw flies around my table.
