Livingston Bagel and Catering

I have not been back since Covid because I am now 40 minutes away but I made the trek for old times sake and sadly, the bagels just tasted like bread. The whitefish spread was still amazing and the nova was just okay but the bagels were meh. I have been a customer since I was kid in the 70s and I considered Livingston Bagel an institution that rivaled the best in the city. Unfortunately, this was not my recent experience. I’ll return in a year and give them another chance.

OLD Review:

Incredible bagels! Nice crust on the outside; soft and chewy on the inside. My favorite bagel is the one I take out of the bag and eat in the car on the way home.

They have very good schmears but hands
down by far the best whitefish spread anywhere. I usually buy at least a dozen bagels, a couple different types of cream cheese, some nova, whitefish spread and herring because their fish is excellent too.

Food was horrible I ordered a turkey bacon egg and cheese with salt pepper and mayo. They drowned it with mayo and salt I could not even eat it . Would never order here again

I am a big fan of this bagel shop, particularly for their breakfast sandwiches. I like to go several times a month to eat breakfast in the restaurant.

Love this place. Freshest bagels around. I come everyday when in town. This has good to be one of the best delis.. and Im from Boca Raton Florida!!!! The owner is personable and kind and very welcoming. If I could give it 10 starts I would!!

I was very disappointed with the service. My husband and I went for sandwiches twice, we ordered in person. Each time they got our order incorrect after we specified what we wanted. Both times I paid 15 dollars per sandwich and all I got was meat and bread. I ordered a sandwich from
the menu which said that it included Russian dressing pastrami Cole slaw and cheese, to go once we got home we found in the bag rye bread and the meat nothing else. The first time in happened I shrugged it off as a mistake, but when the same exact thing happened a second time I was upset! I called the shop to speak to the manager too discuss my issue and the person that answered couldn’t understand English and when I asked for the manager they said the manager wasn’t present and their wasn’t anyone in charge on the premises and no one that spoke english at the shop. Even when the shop was open for business I was so confused as to how they are serving patrons. Don’t go there not worth your money!!!

Dan and his staff catered my daughters bat mitzvah kiddish this weekend and everything was flawless and perfect. They could not have made this any easier on me and everything was beautiful and delicious!

Dan, Claudia, and the entire team were a pleasure to work with from start to finish. The room was set up beautifully. The food was excellent, and plentiful, as always. The MASON bagels were just as much a success today as they were 13 years ago at his bris. The staff is very kind and very helpful. I recommend Livingston Catering to all who ask.

Dan and Team recently catered a 90-person luncheon event I hosted at a temple on May 24, 2025. From planning to execution, Dan and staff delivered and thensome. The quality and quantity of food exceeded headcount; we had plenty of perfectly packaged food to bring home and give away to neighbors. The buffet presentation was visually creative and many guests commented on the display as well as the food. Dan's servers were professional and attentive the entire time -- they were always busy and in sight, either refreshing the buffet or clearing tables. Speaking of tables, I love the crisp white linens they used which brightened the space. I highly recommend Livingston Caterers for your event.

Bought a hot pastrami for $15....$10 less than most local kosher and kosher style delis in the metro NYC area and in Florida where I live. It was perfect! Haven't had a real pastrami sandwich in over 10 years.
Also purchased creamed herring and chopped liver for myself and my elderly mom who I was visiting over the Memorial Day holiday week. Their food is great as my sister always says. This visit proved it as I hadn't been there in a long time before they became a full scale deli.

The absolute best!! I was on a girls trip and we had to make a pit stop. White fish, bagels and unwich was absolutely incredible. The owner was so friendly and you could tell it was a family spot!
