Why would you accept reservations if you're closed for vacation? We had a reservation for a party of four only to get to the restaurant and see a sign on the door that says closed for vacation until October 8th. Ridiculous. No calls? You just close for vacation while still taking reservations? Unacceptable. 
The food at Salute Bistro was outstanding -- my wife loved the brussel sprouts (as did I) and her salmon...I thought the Paolo's salad was delicious as was my seafood and pasta. Service was attentive and efficient. I just wish that there were more patrons on a Saturday night as we don't want to lose this restaurant for Livingston. Perhaps it was just a slow early-summer kind of a night.

I was truly amazed by my first visit and first dish I ordered. That spaghetti dinner was awesome. I don't know how they did it and I'll be back for a second take, but that first experience was amazing!

Shrimp scampi was good...wings were pretty terrible. $40 for a dinner and appetizer for take out. It didnt seem worth money to me.

We were disappointed with our meal and the service, however, the owner, Paolo, called me immediately to apologize and rectify. I have heard only accolades prior to this and simply because of the wonderful professionalism of Paolo we will give it another try.
We ordered chicken cheese sandwich but, we instead got steak.

I've only had two things, the Thai chicken wings and Paolo's salad (has fruit/goat cheese etc), both were very good. The wings very crispy, although the 2nd time I got them they were significantly smaller. Their crack balsamic dressing is great, but waaaay too overpriced (same with wings). I think they'd gain a bit more customers if they were more reasonable with their prices on some of these items. Please make your dressing cheaper so I can buy more and not feel guilty lol.
