We really wanted to like this place as we are local, but we were so disappointed. The hummus order was the tiniest little container I've ever seen and so thick, but they gave a lot of pita so not sure what they were thinking. The platters were also so small - why call it a platter when it's a little bit of meat and some white rice. I ordered the Greek salad as well, which had a hair in it when we opened it and consisted mostly of lettuce. Since when does a Greek salad come with mostly lettuce and no peppers? We were so disappointed and hungry after "eating". Unfortunately, we won't be eating here again.

This afternoon, I placed an order over the phone for lunch. I was happy to find a casual spot where I could pickup. I was in the area running errands and wanted to try a new place. I love Greek food and so does my partner, who is vegetarian (usually we can get great veggie-friendly options with Greek cuisine). The food was flavorful and fresh. Plus, it passed my tzatziki test - a tell of a good Greek spot. You know it's legit when the tzatziki is on point. This is what we ordered for lunch; all recommended! - spinach pie with fries - large greek salad - falafel platter - hummus dip with pita If you are driving over to The Greek Place, there is a small private lot for the stores in the corner building where the restaurant is. You have to turn into Glendale to get to the back parking lot.

I have ordered delivery both last weekend and this weekend and I can not say enough wonderful things about this restaurant. The food is absolutely authentically and delicious Lee Greek! The moussaka Is probably the best I’ve ever had. The Greek salad was fresh with a nice amount of feta cheese, A delicious grape leaf, Black olives tomatoes fresh lettuce and a wonderful wonderful Greek dressing. The baked beans, Which are actually butter beans large butter or lima beans served in a tomato sauce with Greek spices are just addictive! The tzatziki is perfect and it’s very fresh. It is served with Warm pitas. The owners who are a married couple may be the kindest, most gracious, and accommodating restaurant owners I have ever spoken with. They are warm and friendly and make you feel like you have known them your entire life. Oh I cannot wait to go to the restaurant and actually meet them in person. If I have to give this restaurant five stars I will, or I could actually give it a 10!!!!

This place is a gem in Livingston. A bit hard to find from the outside with an unassuming look. However, it offers a lot for the menu. Food is delicious, portion is great, staff is friendly. Will definitely come back. Highly recommended.Parking: Plenty of parking at the back of the building, or at the town center which is next to its building.

Great, authentic Greek food, great service and also a good selection of imported goodies from Greece.

I don't understand the good reviews. Got a falafel platter, it took 40 mins to come out. Falafel is rock hard and tasteless. Similar to if I'd put frozen falafel in the oven and forgot about them. Cauliflower side is steamed plain cauliflower, underdone. $15? did I just get punked?

We stumbled upon this place after initially trying to go somewhere else. I could not be happier that the first restaurant didn't work out. The food at The Greek Place is absolutely phenomenal. The portions are great, and every member of our party left the meal excited to come back. 6 out of 5 stars. This place is well worth it. (Possibly the best piece of feta cheese I've ever eaten. And extremely nice staff as well)Vegetarian options: There are plenty of vegetation options here. Get the pita and dips, or the falafel. Both are delicious

I ordered a box from Too Good to Go and it was absolutely delicious. I received a spanakopita (Greek spinach and cheese pie) and stuffed red bell peppers. Absolutely delicious! Highly recommend. They have a ton of Greek products in store as well. Love it, it’s a very laid back vibe.

We went to an evening outdoor event Saturday night and left past typical dinnertime ( thus we were getting hungry). We gave this place a shot as it was new, we are creatures of habit and typically chose the same 6-7 places to order from. We are all so glad we tried the Greek Place. We got the spinach pie, cheese pie, dolmas, some of the dips, falafel and French fries, and it was all very good! My kids liked all the things they tried & they are super picky! We will definitely order from here again.

The food was absolutely delicious and prices are beyond reasonable!! The staff here go above and beyond to provide the best service. Definitely a small business you’d want to support!

If you actually know Greek food this is the place to go to. Anna and her husband are sweethearts, always making our experience far and beyond. Takeout is amazing, but siting down and enjoying the food and chat is something else. Portions are very Greek, and the taste of Anna’s food will transport you to a terrace in Athens if you close your eyes while biting into her dolmas.Truly happy to be regulars, they even have vegan options and will be super accommodating if you tell them you have any food allergies. Let Anna and her husband spoil you with the most flavorful authentic Greek food in Livingston.

My parents prefer the more upscale atmosphere and servings at that neighboring place. And I like that place. But in the interest of selling The Greek Place I won't even name the competition. The Greek Place is a casual place, sorta a diner but minus all the American foods, just the Greek ones. I was trying to get the 71 bus and I had about 10 minutes to get food. They said it'd be about 12-15 minutes to make a gyro to go, and I gave that a shot. It was out in 5 minutes. And delicious. Simply made, simple ingredients, classic Greek flavor, great price, great service. I can't ask for anything more than that! I may have my favorite Greek in Livingston move down the block to this place... but honestly there are a lot of differences. Different vibes, different menus, different service. Come here for lunch or a quick grab. Go to the other one for a more formal sit-down dinner. That's what I'd say. But whatever you choose from The Greek Place - even sit-down dinner - you won't go wrong.

3.5-stars I was in need of a takeout spot near Saint Barnabas Hospital and came across the positive reviews for The Greek Place, which sounded perfect. I parked the car in the rear lot and headed inside to examine the menu and place my order. The front of the restaurant offered a few tables, as well as several shelves of Greek delicacies. It also appeared that the kitchen staff all hailed from the country as well. I grew more excited, finding the place very authentic. The man working at the counter was extremely patient with me as I perused the menu and even chatted with me while I waited for my order. The food was ready in about 20-30 minutes, and I grabbed it to go. When I took the meal from its bag a bit later, I was impressed by the generous size of my Chicken Soulvaki platter. First, it came with a side salad, which included lettuce, tomato, onion, cucumber, olives grape leaves, and feta cheese. It also had a light dusting of Greek dressing on it. The vegetables were all very fresh, and the included grape leaves were firm and flavorful. The herbs and seasonings in the dressing gave the salad a real zest. In terms of the poultry, the grilled chunks of chicken were sourced from white breast meat and were super tender. However, they were a bit bland and could have used some more seasoning. For my included side dish, I selected the Stewed Eggplant, which oddly also included some squash and zucchini. I loved both of these other vegetables, so I was happy about the addition, just surprised. The vegetables were cooked in a tasty tomato sauce that was unfortunately very oily. I also shared an order of the Hummus, which was nice and creamy, but not overly flavorful. The portion was also very small in comparison to the generous helping of soft, fluffy pitas that came with it. The Greek Place fulfilled our needs for a light, convenient meal, but it had its pluses and minuses.
