Great wine dinner! We loved it here. The bar is beautiful, the food is great, and the service is perfect.

Attended the Wine Dinner, mainly because it showcased the talent of Avenue's new chef and the fabulously talented celebrity chef Christina Wilson. Each course was nicely paired with the delicious wine selections. By far, however, was the crab risotto - spectacular! The wine commentator provided great stories and information on the wine and we just loved the vibe of the whole evening.

Don't think they could handle a busy night. Did not see waiter until we were sitting for 20 minutes and we had to ask to have someone come to our table. Drinks and apps were good but dinner food was ehh. The food came out at all different times and one person had to eat 15 min before the others. Food was cold and not very tasty. Disappointing $500 Ate at the bar 3 months ago and we had really enjoyed it. Not sure what's going on there now. Hope they get it together bc it's a beautiful restaurant

A perfect afternoon lunch, on a perfect Saturday afternoon in August by the shore. Service, appetizers, entres, wine and desert. Thank you all at Avenue, We had a wonderful time!

Nice ambiance and location. Service wasn't great. We didn't get our drinks until after the appetizer arrived. The cocktails were made with poor ingridents, and didn't taste fresh. For example, they put watermelon syrup instead of real watermelon juice. No garnish. I expect more from an expensive cocktail. The scallops were cooked well but lacked flavor, my flounder was a thin piece wrapped around a crab cake. The flounder was dried out. Overall, you are coming to this location for the oceanfront dining and ambiance. The food is ok, mostly pretending to be fine dining but it's not.

It is beautiful to sit on the patio by the water. We just get hamburgers with mashed potatoes. The food is very good and so is the service. There is a manager/owner that stops by the table periodically and is extremely helpful and enhances the experience.

What happened to the great food and service at Avenue? Something is terribly wrong with one of my former favorite spots on the shore. It took an hour get all of our drinks before dinner at our table in a nearly empty restaurant. The wine menu was missing pages and the wrong wine came out twice. They were completely under staffed. The meals for the six of us was served one by one over 20 minutes, one side dish arrived after we finished the meal, and the most expensive cold caviar was served last. The steak tartar was awful, the crispy Brussel sprouts were soggy, both burgers were over done, they forgot our reorder of drinks. The bathrooms were disgusting, most had no toilet paper and the seats were broken. And to add a final insult, we were over charged $90 for a bottle of champagne. The waiter was awesome and really hustled, but with no support he was doomed. The manager is in way over his head.

Definitely not the same service and facility I experienced 3 years ago. Long time to to wait for waiter, bathroom is not as clean as it used to be. When it came time for desert waiter said she can't find desert menu (in a French restaurant!!). Food is ok, but for the price I've had better.

Food was wonderful and delicious. SERVICE, on the other hand, was TERRIBLE. We didn't order an appetizer, and when our entrees arrived, we had not been served our drinks, the usual basket of bread, and our water glasses were still sitting empty as when we were first brought to the table. Waiter had lots of excuses-but other servers seem to provide much better attention to their tables.

It's extremely overpriced! $45 for 4 medium sized scallops is outrageous. They served it on a huge plate with a little bit of sauce, that's all. Not worth it.
We love the Long Branch area and this was out first time trying Avenue. The food was great. Nothing to complain about there. The rest of the experience though left something to be desired. We sat outside and enjoyed the ocean view. However, you have people coming off the beach who are walking past your table the entire time. In addition, the inside bathrooms were not reserved for restaurant guests, as they were sandy and not well cleaned. Our water jug also had a lid with mold on it.

We were in Avenue a couple of weeks ago while visiting our son in NJ. We sat at the bar and had a wonderful experience with the bartender Valeska. She was a great conversationalist and quite funny. Her service was impeccable. We truly enjoyed ourselves because of Val. We will stop in again next time we are in NJ to see her!
