Two Texans walk into a restaurant on a cold and blustery day looking for some classic fish and chips - order the chips, the lobster tacos and then some... because of great food and service! We enjoyed our visit which was completely by accident as we had a day to explore the coast and ended up starving in a town we did not know. Charley's was comfortable, friendly and seriously delicious. Amy took great care of us- as for her, she was exceptional. Thanks Charley's- we are in NJ each November it seems so we'll be back!

We stopped for lunch ! Service was great restrooms- clean Food - terrible . Octopus appetizer was rubbery . Chicken wings - over fried and dry The Mediterranean snapper not tasty-at all the broccoli was dumped on the plate as if they wanted to get rid of it. It was over priced for what we got - $74

They have a nerve to charge $3.50 for 4 tiny pieces of garlic bread that barely tasted like garlic!! The shrimp on my cold shrimp,clams and oysters platter were very melee tasting. However the fish and chips my wife ordered was excellent

We had a great dining experience. Our waitress was so helpful with suggestions and attentive. She suggested the tuna pizza for an appetizer and it did not disappoint. Our entrees were plenty big and the brownie sundae along with fresh brewed coffee were spot on! I would definitely recommend and return.

Whenever I return to Monmouth County Charley's Ocean Grill is a must. The food is very tasty, the service is great and the price is right! And by the way it's across the street from the Atlantic Ocean! What more could you ask for in a great place to eat and visit with friends!

Your hostess doesn’t really know what she’s doing she’s not pleasant at all. Most big woman that are hostess they’re nice and pleasant. You should change her.

We had such a great experience at Charley's! The seafood was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. Everything we tried was excellent ( like tuna tartare), and you could really taste the quality. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the service made the whole evening even better. Definitely a spot I'd come back to and recommend to anyone who loves great seafood!

Charlie's Ocean grill was disgusting. Calamari appetizer was tough and in some really weird sauce. Fish and chips was terrible. Waffle fries were fried hard as a rock and the fish was all breading and oily. It was the worst food experience I have had in years. Service was mediocre at best.
