Mar Belo Portuguese Restaurant/Lounge

The restaurant is not handicapped accessible. I brought my 88 year old mother here to celebrate her birthday and accommodating her in a wheelchair was very difficult.

We started with the special beet salad appetizer and a bottle of the Kendall Jackson reserve Pinot noir. Then on to the Kansas city steak for him; I had the special Iberico pork, which was outstanding, looked just like steak. For dessert we split the chocolate mousse, with cappucinos and if you've never had a glass of Beirao, you must try it , neat to add to your cappucino. It's a delicious orange liquor. We are told it's great over ice. We will be back.

What a lovely dining experience we had at this restaurant.
From the door being opened for us as we arrived to the lovely friendly hostess seating us.
Such a tastefully decorated place,with a wonderful atmosphere.
We shared probably one of the best sangria’s I have ever tasted since living in the states these past 30 years.
I thoroughly enjoyed the shrimp Paella,and the most delicious risotto.
The staff where so professional,and nothing was too much for them.
As we where leaving I noticed their lovely outside dining area with wonderful music playing.
We are very much looking forward to our next visit!

Very noisy. Hard to hear my wife sitting at same table. Food acceptable, nothing spectacular. Smallest 1/2 lobster I have ever seen in the paella. Rack of lamb was hard to cut. ,Server, Carlos, was not very attentive. He was more interested in the larger tables. Had to ask 3 times for lemon. He stopped by only once to ask if everything was OK. He didn't even clear the table, another server (not busboy) took care of that. He basically only did the minimum.

Food was delicious! Service was friendly and attentive! We are looking forward to returning!

Great food and service. Went with work group, solid bar menu, apps were very good. Split the tomahawk with a coworker and it was cooked to temp, split some deserts and they were delicious. Highly recommend.

Mar Bello was recommended from a friend, who knows our food tastes and expectations, and it was a hit. We actually got there early, to have a cocktail, wound up staying and eating at the bar. Everything was great. We had to leave unexpectedly, but can't wait to come back, and enjoy more of the cuisine and service.

My wife and i were invited to Mar Belo. add 611 Broadway in Long branch New Jersey for a Dinner and theater party with Gail Gerson and her press club . Honestly? Worth every ounce of effort . The food was fantastic. I reslyenjoyed the Chicken in Garlic sauce, Saffron rice, the whole deal, and it hit the spot like a nap you didn’t know you needed.
Now, the paelha … that was something else. One of the more unusual ones I’ve had, but in a good way. The owner Paulo didn’t skimp on the seafood either—clams, scallops, mussels, and even lobster. It was like the ocean threw a party and I got invited!!!.
Between the food and the company and the fabulous show at the Spring Lake Theatre, the Music Man , it turned into one of those nights that reminds you why you still make plans to go out . I’d go back in a heartbeat.
